remember the documentary about New Order that we´re making in Argentina? well, we´re on the last steps and the producers asked me if there´s anything i could add (in images) to symbolize Ian´s death. they told me that maybe the headlines on a magazine or a newspaper, or maybe a picture about his grave... something that could be meaningful as an image. my question is, does anyone here got any of this? maybe a newspaper scan or a full quality pic. i´ll be more than grateful for any help! ![]()
Ian´s death on paper

What could be better than a copy of the death certificate reproduced in the back of the 'Form & Substance' book?
There are lots of pictures of Ian's grave around floating around the net but if you were to use them make sure you get copy right permision. If you could get down to Manhcester it may be worth looking at the archieves in central library. They will probably have copies of news papers on the day Ian Curtis died. JD were starting to become known at the point of his death so I am sure it would have been breifly covered by the press.
As you're in argentina though I am sure coming down to Manchester is not an option.

yeah, that´s a shame. :(
maybe someone here took a picture and could send me a copy, so i don´t have to pay for copyright. of course, everyone who´s helping will be featured at the end of the documentary on the "thanks" part! ;)
Is this documentery going to be sold or shown on TV at all? If so you may want to get in touch with Deborah Curtis and ask permision to use a picture of his grave. I am sure she will be ok with it as Channel Four showed the grave very recently. I just know form past experience you do generally need permision for this kind of stuff.
I have pictures of JD/NO related buildings but I have not got Ian Curtis's grave because Macclesfield is a good 12-15 miles away from me which is along way without a car. (yes I know how comical that sounds) It would be too much hassle to go down there and find this cemetry just to get one picture.
I am sure other people here have it.
Ian does not have a grave (he was cremated - I don't know where the ashes were scattered). He has a memorial stone on the edge of a path about the size of a brick. Hardly worth a trip from Argentina!:(
I'm sure if you try a search on this site there will be pictures.
Yeah, someone post a scan of the death certificate.
Hey, maybe with the new JD movie coming out, old Debbie will give us some more insight into the suicide letter!

thanks for everyone´s help. much appreciated! ![]()
as i received a couple of private emails asking for the same thing i guess i better explain a little about this documentary. i´m not the one actually making the documentary, i´m just intellectually collaborating. my job is to provide them a number of images and then they decide. besides they made me an interview and some parts of it will be shown as i´m the "expert" here! :D
the documentary will be for cable TV (most probably) here in Argentina. i think there´s a chance that it could be an international channel or a local channel with international owners of several channels around the world. so it might appear on your screen one day. however it´s too soon to tell yet, still a lot of negotiation must be taken care of. ![]()
in any way i don´t think it will available to buy, at least is not the main idea of the producers. what they have in mind is to make a TV program each one with one band in particular. the first one is New Order but the next one could be Kraftwerk or something. god knows. as i´m friend with one of the producers i kindly provide him musical info and video material that i own because i want it to be as good as possible. then is up to them to decide what´s final product they want to make. ![]()
as i said before, there´re people who already helped me a lot with info and images as Paul Henderson and Shug, besides "neworderonline" as a whole. i´ll take care that every one of them will appear on the "thanks" part at the end of the documentary. it´s as much as i can do and the least i can do. ![]()
