Bah, Moby's good music days have long been over (hey have they ever existed?). Today he is just whisked around to anti-Bush music events.
Well, nice try for Temptation, but it COULD be anything really... here is the quote from Moby's website:
"i don't often cover other peoples songs. but cd1 will contain a cover. and the hint is...i bought a 7" single in the early 80's and it was very difficult to determine the artist because the artwork looked like blue flecked linoleum on the 7" sleeve. eh, you'll figure it out soon enough. it's very pretty, if i do say so myself."
Sure, Temptation's artwork looks this way, but it could be anything... really!

No it won't.![]()
I don't like Moby much but I think his version of New Dawn Fades is good. I am not sure if he would cover another JD/NO song though.
I guess its only like Pras Micheal covering numerous Bee Gee's songs and turning them into gansta rap tunes.
i liked his version of new dawn fades, as well, so i'm quite looking forward to a moby temptation. from all the moby-bashing around here, you'd think eminem was lurking around the site!

No eminem 'round here, but I do quite like his new video with all the Pee Wee screams ;)
I am proud to say that I've NEVER seen any of that little faggot's videos (eminem or whatever) and I have never listened to any of his songs all the way through...and never will. ![]()
Moby has always had good LP's and I am looking forward to the next even more...though, like many groups out there that started back in day...his first few albums were ca-rappy at best!!

8 Mile was a good movie though...

I agree with Spotnick. And even if I don't necessarily like all his music, I must admit that he is a very intelligent songwriter (lyrics that is, much of the music is sampled) and a smart businessman. Respect.

Maybe so TLV...but I just can't suscribe to that. And as we all know very well, opinions are like assholes, and everybody's got one...me no different. ![]()
I'm finding myself more and more closed minded as I age and maybe it'll be the end of me but I'm happy with that for now.
As the song goes "Eminem ain't nuttin' but a bitch!" ![]()
Sooooooo... what is your opinion of the possible Moby cover of ye olde Taboo #7?
I think it should be a decent effort. I think his cover of NDF is one of the best JD I've heard by a mainstream artist. Hey, maybe it'll make "the kids" take notice of New Order (yeah, like it made them notice JD) and we'll get the forums clogged up with kids like Spike. :p
i think when he coverd ndf is was a pretty good effort i like it! intresting to hear temptation though

He, he. Well, as previous poster said "how can he improve on perfection?" That said, I generally look forward to covers of older tracks by today's musicians. I'm willing to give Moby a chance. If he is just rehashing the original with some more modern techno-beat, then I'll probably be disappointed. But if he is taking the track in a new (hopefully unexpected, yeah right) direction, then I'd be very pleased.
Though it is debated if it's a cover or a remix, the Pump Panel version/remix of Confusion whooped (sp? + Bernard pun somewhat intended) the original version's metaphorical ass. Also, the Community version of Love Vigilantes is rocking a hell lot more than the original... :D
Just my opinion. And I got an asshole too, but I'm not showing you that one.

I can dig that...and I agree that it [should] be a complete re-hash, vice some funky techno trash.
The important thing with Temptation is to get the Sequencer right. I also fear that Moby will make it sound like Blue Monday.

C'mon...even Moby isn't that dumb!!

Look at who he has supported for the last two elections ;)
By the way, I guarantee you 100% that Spotnick was NOT joking when he said Moby was in "8 Mile".
That's just the way he is.

well, I think he did a pretty damn good job with New Dawn Fades... def check out the acoustic version on the Play DVD too!
I think moby could at least do a pretty decent cover of Temptation... although there are a few bits of the song that might be a bit cringe-worthy -> "up down turn around" bit & and the "ooh oohs"
but other than that...
-> I bet (if he is covering Temptation) that it'll sound somewhere between the original 12" and the '98 versions

He's not too dumb; he loves Homer Simpson. :)
