Hey all...saw this in the store the other day and thought I'd share with ya...(Not sure exactly when this was released this year, but I know it is fairly recent)

Not a bad set at all, but since I have about 95% of the songs already, I'm in no rush to buy that (maybe with the Christmas bonus). This came out on Tuesday, the 19th I believe. Also, Rhino had already put LWTUA on their previous box set, the punk collection called No Thanks!, so it would've been nice to get another track heard. Wonder what version of Temptation will be used?
As always, there's gonna be quibbling with the track selection of others, I can think of better songs by Robyn Hitchcock or Butthole Surfers (also, where's The Fall?), but it's nice to see The Lyres, The Cramps, Camper Van Beethoven, and Suicidal Tendencies in there.
Same here...I already own about 98.92363*3-2 % of the tracks so now rush to get it....but the line-up, though not up to everyone's personal tastes, is very good!
I'm not a betting man, but I'd be willing to bet that it'll be the '87 version of Temptation.

Perhaps...but being that many of the other songs on this set mainly from the 80's are MUCH shorter songs than the typical NO song...I'd still be willing bet that it's the 87 version.

You are right. It is indeed Temptation 87. You can listen on the Amazon site.
They picked alot of crappy songs from these bands. ex. Going to Florida by the Butthole Surfers. Too many better Surfer tunes to pick, I'd take Cherub.

Throbbing G. came out on a couple comps back in 1990 I believe from Mute records...but you're right, it's rare to find 'em on such a comp.

i would have never expected tg to be on a comp like that lol... i mean, an industirla comp, sure, but whoa, on a comp like that, its something new.

They were also on another, 2-disc Rhino compilation of electronic music, called Machine Soul. Adrenalin was the track; NO's Blue Monday was also featured.
BTW Your Holiness, sorry we missed your thread concerning this set.

What the hell, I broke down and bought the thing, it's good to have a lot of those songs together, also I never had something like Amplifier by The DB's on CD as well.
On the front cover of the booklet, there's a b&w collection of gig posters. Included is one from New Order, and it's the flyer from their May 89 show in Portland, with Throwing Muses. Very nice Rhino!!!!!
Someone connected with the set is from Oregon, besides the NO flyer, there's a Feelies one and the flyer from the Butthole Surfers brilliant Halloween gig. Too bad they didn't use the one from the next tour, the one with the Fred Flinstones on it.
Oh yeah, Cherub is definitely the tune they should've used, although Lady Sniff is always good for a listen and a chuckle.
