Thought Barney's salesmanship during the Cologne 2001 gig was pretty funny.
"Okay, this is our new single. It's called Crystal. Hope you like it so much you go out and buy it. We need your support."
BUT the LA gig was better.
"This is our new single Crystal. and if you go out and buy it immediately, I'll sleep with you...each and every one of you personally, and so will Billy, and so will Hooky. We'll do anything to sell ourselves."
Wasnt the Cologne gig where Barney asked the Robbie William audience if theyd like some marching music instead?
Before the beginning of TBTHoG Mr. Sumner asks the crowd...
"I see you got a group there in Cologne? Do you like dance music. No? All right. Do you like marching music? Okay this is a song called Touched By The Hand Of God."

Bernard seems to have some problem with the Germans, nearly every gig New Order have ever played in Germany has featured some heavily sarcastic comment or other. Sometimes they are funny, sometimes they are downright xenophobic.
I think he has never forgiven them for the Berlin Incident. In JD and early NO he tried so hard to be a German only to be rejected by an unappreciative audience.
