Just noticed how increasingly baffling a lot of these latest threads have become, so I'd better try and lighten the mood a bit. I'd like all you onliners to tell everyone else which are your three favourite smilies on this site and why. How about it?

My three are: just freaky maaan!! no real reason - I just like it! are there any sound effects connected to this one??

Underworld is excellent. Dubnobass...is a fucking classic. every track has a life of it's own. UNDERWORLD....................YEAH.

By the way, the message board at Dirty.org is so similar to NewOrderOnline. The same fucking lists over and over...what song is your favorite, what album is the best, what's karl saying at 4:23 secs on Skyscaper etc...it must be the life of a message board. Plus they use Underworld lyrics/song titles as their Nicknames like we do (some of us).

BTW Candy, NewOrder had Underworld playing for all the Area:One dates.

Excuse me? Just because I live in Australia means I like Men at Wank, does it? Does this mean I can assume your a huge fan of Creed, seing as though they're from America? A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, and I'm not prepared to enter a battle of wits with an unarmed opponant. But I will say this - Area: One was set up by Moby, so I don't see how NO can take any credit (or lack therof) for UndieWorld's inclusion, just because they were on tour together... CTD

I was just trying to get a rise out of you and see some of those Puke smilies. Men at Work is the worst Australian band i could think of (i kinda like Crowded House) so i picked them. I battle of wits can be entertaining....I personally think Underworld's Dubnobass album (i'm only vouching for this album) is an extension of the musical path neworder blazed in the early 80's with updated influences from the early progressive house released around '92. Vocals, guitar, synth with Hooks bass replaced by lush, rolling basslines. Dirty, Skyscaper, River of Bass, Cowgirl etc...the whole album is good. Neworder can only dream of releasing an album as complete. At least with Karl Hyde you get stream of consciousness vocals that take you to another place, the verbal equivilent to flashing images. Barney writes the most boring, straight forward load of shit (specifically Get Ready). I loved the style of lyrics on Perfect Kiss, True Faith, Temptation, Leave Me Alone etc... but the garbage that fills Get Ready is not acceptable. I would rather listen to random phrases than cliche after cliche. William Burroughs and Bryon Gison developed the cut-up style used by Karl Hyde with their books, The Soft Machine, The Ticket That Exploded and Nova Express. Are you familiar with any of these or their work on audio collage? Do you not like electronic music in general?

Not at all - I don't see a distinction between electronic or other music, simply if it's good or shite. We both recognise that an argument can't be won if the issue is taste, so let's leave the slanging match at that. For the record, I absolutely love 'electronic' stuff like Orbital (geniuses) and Daft Punk ("Discovery" is one of the best albums this year, IMHO), but I love Get Ready also. Not their best, but definately not the worst they have done either. A bit off topic with the smilies, isn't it? I'll fix that! CTD makes a change, dunnit?

The Platinum on Black mix with World and Impact at the end was one of my favorite moments on disc for a while.
