I cant imagine them doing another album after the forthcoming one.And im not sure i like the idea of them doing one in their 50s anyway which they will be by the time if they ever do.Sad to say.But then again 50 is young in this day.
New album to be the last?

True,i think itll be the last one. A shame really, but the truth is the gap between "Republic" and "Get Ready" was too long-as good as the side project albums were, thats where weve missed at least two New Order albums. Maybe its the end altogether-cant see another Other Two album, whats Hooky gonna do,FreeBass? That seems to have vanished. So its maybe one more from Electronic then they`ll retire...
No, as for me, I'd like to grow old together with New Order. I'll be 40, they'll be 60. So what? We all will be old anyway. So it's better to be backed up by the lads from Manchester.![]()

Will they tour outside Europe is now the question... I believe they will tour in the UK, might add a few dates in continental Europe... but I doubt they'll cross the pound this time and they didn't even bother to visit the east coast of North America the last time...
However, I still blame 9-11 for that one... in my mind (a happy place), New Order was preparing their new single in the US (Someone Like You), it was being mixed by Gabriel & Dresden in New York to prepare with the album released in October.. but we know what happened on September 11th 2001, so it changed plans a bit... the album has been released in October, Crystal reached #1 in the dance charts.. but that was it.
Hope it aint the last one, surely they still have milage in them yet!
Perhaps they should pack it in after this one or maybe they'll end up as crap as the rolling stones!![]()

Blondie managed to make a good album when they were mostly in their 50's. I think age is not a problem as longs as you can still perform and keep your music taste modern. The big trap artists fall into is they start releasing albums for the sake of it. New Order have alsways said if they got to that point they would stop recording.
will it arse be their last album, they are musicians ffs its all they can fucking do innit?.
look at the likes of rod stewart, jagger et all christ even "tina (im being electrocuted)turner" has squeezed another one out.
and seeing how the current trend in music seems to be dragging up the past for another "one more time" on a variety of tracks , i can see them plodding on for years to come yet.
lets face it they hardly break their nackers in getting an album out anyways, they never have.
so as they get older they have the excuse they have always wanted to be the lazy bastards they are.![]()
I suppose it may depend on how this album's received but who knows. I hope it's not the last thoughXxx
If this is their last album, or if they do 5 more after this I won't be surprised. Get Ready was the best comeback album I have ever heard. They might be closing in on their 50's but they are one of the oldest groups (if you count joy division's years) that still puts out new music and its still pretty damn good.
They are New Order, mystery is part of why anybody liked them at all.
Even if its the last NEW album, there will still be things they can release:
PFD 177,Taras Shevchenco,Academy and A video compilation dvds. A proper rarites boxset,a live album just for Digital Mike, and side project best ofs...
We all know that if it was up to Hooky they'd go on playing live forever. I guess future albums really do rely on how well received this one is. Or is the commercial success of it going to be important to them?
um... regarding age have you guys ever heard of either of these two performers before?
David Bowie + Lou Reed:p
I don't think that this will be their last album. If it is, then they'll do more than 3 shows in the US. I think that'll be the sign that it's the end. Oh, and they'd never officially say it's their last album / tour either
they still sounds great live so let's hope they tour (i can't imagine they won't). but i seriously doubt we'll ever see them over on this side over the ocean again--at least for more than a show or two!
Personally, I hope it's not their last; I reckon they've got at least another album or two in them yet. BTW, this is Shelley here, just in case you got confused by the name; I fancied a change.

The first two have ALREADY been released on DVD btw....
They can always retire here in Las Vegas and play a show every night.... WELL NO, PLEASE DON'T, BUT AT LEAST PLAY HERE SOON!![]()

Yeah,i realised Taras was on 3 16 straight after i posted-could`nt be arsed editing it. PFD is a Japan only dvd though...
If the album is absolutely brilliant (Technique, PCL caliber), then they should stop while they're ahead..
If not, they can keep having a go at it till they get it right ![]()
