Speaking to Don about this earlier, but every time we've seen Hooky this year he's opened with Captain & Tennille's "Love Will Keep Us Together" and Grace Jones' "I've Lost Control". However, both versions have the Curtis vocal for LWTUA and SLC (obviously) interspliced in the mixes as well.

Has anyone got these versions at all? Have had a good look around Soulseek and suchlike and can't find those mixes anywhere. Surely someone somewhere must have a copy, independent of Hooky himself?!

Its probably more a case of theyre one off`s he made himself in the studio, having the right equipment would make such things easy.

There was an interview in one of the Glasgow magazines with Hooky before he played at Grahame's bar. Hooky says something like "There will be a few songs not heard before, mixes done exclusively for Neworder but were never released"

So it looks like The Hookmaster is the only one with these mixes Al.

From an interview in "The List", Scottish Arts and Listings Mag, 23rd September 2004

"...I play some old mixes of Joy Division and New Order that nobody else has, and which I never play anywhere else. They were deemed not to be good enough when they were written, but they really work now.... the Malcolm McLaren mix of Love Will Tear Us Apart and Martin Gore's cut up of She's Lost Control which was never released..."

Well, it looks like (after a Google search) that the mash-up between Captain & Tennille's "Love Will Keep Us Together" and "Love Will Tear Us Apart" was indeed done by Malcolm McLaren!

Currently listening to an online radio show to see if the track is played - will keep you posted! ;)

l8rs,

Has anyone heard the Martin Gore "cut up" os she's lost control? If so, is it good? I had no idea the Depeche Mode writer did anything for NO or JD. IF indeed, it is the same Martin Gore.
