Now that the album has been confirmed for February, when will there be gigs? Surely some New Order Veterans out there will be able to have a stab at a date? I hope next summer, just after exams.

Anyone betting on venues?

Sadly, I bet it's just something like Wembley and G-Mex early doors.

Then festivals in the summer.

No small venues.

As Al says, a couple of big UK ones in Feb time, with the usual festivals in the summer, and maybe a short US jaunt around May.

Good news is that I have both the holiday and cash saved to do them all - will probably never see them play live after these dates, and am determined to get as many as possible in, all over the world. If I regret anything at all, it's not seeing them in the States.

Al's probably right , shite big venues with warm beer in plastic glasses, and rock hard plastic seats.

Give me Shepherds Bush Empire anyday

I just hope they will announce all the dates... that's all... so I can plan something if they don't come nearby and don't get screwed like last time...

I hope they come to New York City at least once but it seems they only do the festivals. :(

When we met Barney in Vancouver in 2001 he was saying they were either doing three night at Brixton, or one night at Wembley, they weren's sure at that point. Thank fcuk it was the former. Reckon it'll defo be the latter this time around.

Al.

Perhaps they are waiting for the new Wembley stadium to be built !!!

Anything, anywhere has got to be better than the Arena...which in venue terms comes top of the shite stakes in every dept

So a February date in the UK seems likely then. Better get saving those silver coins for a trip. :thumb:

At least the Arena's learned its lesson now though, and has a standing section stage-front!

I've been to worse. Anyway, I'm hoping for somewhere like Paris or Berlin again, maybe even Rome (seeing as they've not played Rome since 1982 and not Italy since 1986, this is a real long shot!)

I suspect we will hear pretty soon, maybe in the next ten days or so. They won't want to get caught up in the christmas post with ticket sales, and gigs tend to be advertised about three months in advance nowadays.

Sorted, if I need a tap I know where to begin:D My holidays don't start till April, so fer purely selfish reasons, I hope they do a half decent size tour around then! Olympia is one of the best wee venues I've been to. Something along the lines of the 2001 tour would be good. And I simply have to go see em abroad this time:nod:

Nice one and well remembered DJ Shug Zico of Voller hits the decks this Friday from 7. Madchester United should be good:D

So what's the thinking here? The "small" venues tour was a great success, but now they've proved they can still pull the punters they're gonna be lazy and just play warehouses like Wembley????

I think that's a mistake: Finsbury & Old Trafford worked because they were a "big day out" with full supporting cast; Brixton, the Apollo etc worked 'cos it was their first "proper" tour for a long time.

Remember the wide open spaces at the MEN arena in Xmas '98??? Don't want that again, do we....?

Here's the problem though. How many venues are there in the UK that can hold around 6-7,000 people? Wembley, Earl's Court, Docklands Arena, MEN Arena(?), NEC, and then we start to struggle a bit. They are a bit limited for choice really, they know they can sell out 6,000 tickets but not always 10,000, unless it's an outdoor all-day jobby.

Of course they'll be doing some gigs in March/April just because I'll have vacations around that time. I'm sure about that. :D

Earl's Court and the MEN are surely closer to 20k, no?

Apparently Wembley is 11,500!

What about somewhere like the Bournemouth International Centre, or that one in the North-East - Gateshead, is it?

Yeah, to my surprise, several of these venues will hold double figure thousands, and Wembley is one of the smaller ones. They all cost an arm and a leg to hire though, you need to shift 7500 just to break even on most of them, when you add in all the other costs. Who'd be a manager?

Of nada interest to the band and the management what the break even figure or hire charge is. That's for Mr Promoter to worry about! Anyhow, waht confirmation is there that the album will be out in Feb? Hooky mentioned March which if the past is anything to go by probably means a couple of months later.

I'll stick my neck out here and predict a May release for the album and a gig in March. Somebody start a sweepstake!

Can I put in an early request that whichever festivals they play, can they please avoid Glastonbury at all costs. I read yesterday that they're putting microchips in the tickets this time around to make them tout-proof. Early rumours suggests you'll have to provide blood and urine samples in 2006 before you can enter the hallowed gates of Worthy Farm.

I'm also hearing that tickets for next June's show are expected to sell out 3.7 seconds after going on sale, with the entire national grid expected to collapse as a result of the demand for tickets.....

Seriously, though, "the kids" don't give two fucks about the Order, and how depressing would it be seeing them play third on the bill for little over and hour at, say, Reading or that "V"-thing. Can they not just do Old Trafford again, please????

To be honest I'd be surprised if they did the UK festival scene, or even any of them. More likely to have their own outdoor shows with supporting cast - yes I know Move wasn't strictly just a New Order gig but a three day event, but it was really theirs, being in Manchester and them headlining the last night. I could see them doing some large indoor UK shows though, and three or four of the Euro festivals. Would prefer it if they did large Euro indoor venues though, but hey, if they play in bloody Baghdad I'll be there.

Hope you've got a bit left for NO then! Stay away from women for a bit, stick to the dodgy dates ;)

I hope to manage quite a few UK dates at least, much better than a holiday
