Barney & hooky were just featured on Channel 4's "top 100 number one singles". I only saw them talking about 'Dancing queen' but they might have talked about other songs. It went something like this:

Hooky: "Its a very happy and uplifting song" Barney: "Is it?"

(cut to another part of the show and then back to the lads)

Barney: "I HATE THAT BAND!!"

genius.

Saw them earlier on slagging off Mull of Kintyre..

Barney...'who would put bagpipes on a record?!'

How do you think they looked?

Barney had bright red blotches on his cheeks, like a kid who's just come in from the cold & also a right fat knacker! Nevermind.

Barney was on BBC1 earlier as well - presenting an award with Sarah Cox for TOTP, for best live tour - Sexy Kylie won it.

Was that the programme where they talked about Kraftwerk? Apparently they met in a Manchester studio in the mid 80's and Carl Bartos asked them about the drum beat from Blue Monday. Barney, a little awe-struck at having met one of their major influences, gave him a tape with the sample on. Barney went on to describe, using a hilrious German accent, how Bartos had given the tape back and said "No, ve vant to know ze procedure".

Did anybody see them talk about 'WIM' ? Looks like it was shot quite a while ago cuz Barney's hair was a lot shorter than when they toured a few weeks back (and not that blonde either).

BTW, how the f**k did Spiller get in the top ten?

surely most things that got into this chart were not worth mentioning?

i thought the no.1s programme was pretty awful, i was sitting there thinking "this is absolute fucking pants" but still felt compelled to watch for some reason. barney, hooky, paul morley and stuart maconie were the only redeeming features, the rest of the talking heads were excruciatingly especially that bint kate thornton; fuck off you have nothing interesting to say! anyone else surprised that WIM got in but "footballs coming home" didn`t seeing as its meant to be the "football song that united the nation" or whatever...not that it matters, the whole list was a load of old cobblers..
