Gigs Announced

... for Ian Brown in March.

That's the Chemicals, and Ian Brown both doing reasonable-sized UK tours in late March ... do people really think New Order are gonna be back and gigging then as well?! Doesn't look likely really, does it?

One thing people might've forgotten from 2001/2 was that the same crew who did New Order, also did the Chemicals. Mark whatshisface was the Chemicals' AND New Order's tour manager, and lights for both bands were done by (the legend) Andy Liddle. Sound for NO was Dian Barton and (I think) it was maybe Dian's brother who did the Chemicals.

Either way, if we've got the same scenario this year (although I heard that manager Mark had emigrated to New Zealand) we can't expect any NO whilst the Chemicals are around - and I believe they're fully booked from Jan to March in Oz, the Far East and then over here?

April at earliest for NO then?

Seriously though, that's smart thinking. I suppose they could get other crew but I think that NO like having people they know they can trust around them. And Super Andy Liddle is a part of the furniture for them. Remember when you took the piss out of him for matching the stage lights to the lyrics during Temptation...blue/green/grey , you just about got way with it.

GR was released in August and the UK tour didn't arrive till October. It's not unusual for a band to tour a little while after an albums been released. Just hope they do some proper gigs rather than wait til the summer and serve up a diet of Festivals, that would be bollox, although all the ones they did last time were good days out.
