Does anyone know if the fake band in the Crystal video is a real band? Or what is the name of the lead singer in it? thanks

Enough with irony, it's a completely fake band, composed of actors, although they are called The Killers, which inspired the name of the new UK band by the same name.

If I remember correctly, the Killers (the recently successful band, not from the Crystal video) are from Vegas.

Yeah i know THe killers were named after the fake band and that they are a fake band i was just wondering what the actors names were.

A Tale of Killers Past...

It was late 2002. Brandon Flowers (yes, it is his real name) was on the rebound from an LA bound synth-pop outfit. Inspired by an Oasis concert, he decided that more guitars were needed in his life. When he clocked Dave Keuning’s small ad in a local paper naming that band as an influence, he took it as fate that they should work together.

The early core of the band was cemented, but they needed a name. In watching New Order’s music video for the song “Crystal,” the guys became inspired. The video features New Order playing in a fictitious band called “The Killers.” “It gave me the ambition that our actual band should be as perfect as their fictional band,” says Flowers.

The Killers are from Las Vagus. I am going to see them in the new year. They have said they are influenced by New Order, The Cure and Morrissey which may explain why they sound so British.

Better that they sound like some British bands than most of American acts.
