They should just concentrate on occasional New Order projects. The elderly need lot's of sleep.

I think its unlikely The Other Two or Monaco will ever re-surface. Electronic might put out a compilation, but i should imagine after the new NewOrder album it`ll either be something new from one of them or,another NewOrder album. Or nothing at all!

I would like to have new release from all of them to listen, but if it would sacrifice New Order I really can live without them.

Define "Few". What, the album Electronic and the Disappointed single wasn't good enough?

Why not Alan Wilder as well? It doesn't seem like he has a lot to do these days..

I'd like to see Pottsy & Johnny M do something. That could be interesting.

Wouldn't it sound just like Electronic?

And what about Gillian releasing a solo album? Maybe some cover versions of songs she like. That would not take too much of her time, I think. She has a very beautiful voice, in fact better than Barney. The Other Two rocks!

The side projects were all well & good and IF another such album came along then I'd buy it...

... but none of them are as good as the main event - something to do with synergy.

Hopefully there'll be no more side project stuff, which would mean we would get some more neworder instead:D

We want gigs and we want plenty of em!!!

Well, you can hear him in the album Boomslang by Johnny Marr & The Healers. In fact I didn't like that much... And what about Pottsy, I didn't listen any final track by RAM... Any news?

If you miss your Johnny Marr, then by Pet Shop Boys Release album, all tracks had Johnnys guitar in it.

But with the Healers he is supposed to be the vocalist and also guitarist.

There's been glints of good stuff from the side projects and a fair amount of shite as well. The whole is still greater than the sum of the parts.

Thanks but already bought it. I still miss him though.

How about Johnny Marr and Pottsy go form their own band?

I have a question: I have b-sides of Electronic & Monaco I got off of napster way back when and have one song which I don't know is by which artist: it's 6:18 long, no words, and samples the bass riff from Everything's Gone Green. I'd guess it's by Electronic b/c of the style of the guitars, but I suspect Barney wouldn't sample Hooky in his side project and it could very well be Monaco. Anyone know which band and name of the tune? Thanks

Yeah it is Monaco and it's a track called "Shattered" from CD 2 of the Sweet lips CD Single.

A bit of background on the song: it was mostly knocked up by Pottsy alone and he told me when creating it he needed a bit of Hooky bass to finish it off as a true "Monaco" creation. So rather than get the Hookster to create a new riff, he simply sampled E.G.G. (very briefly) to fit in with a drumbeat and the rest is history. Personally I think it's a pretty good track simply for the fact it sounds genuinely "different", experimental, and nothing like New Order. Alot of boring New Order fans trundled out the old "Monaco ripping off New Order" argument when they heard the sample, which is still ridiculous when you think about it as it's just as absurd as Bernard Sumner from New Order accusing Bernard Sumner from Electronic of ripping off his vocal style.

Great track though, and along with Ultra were two of the best b-sides from any side project period.

Ally.

I'd prefer New Order but I certainly wouldn't mind something else from Electronic...nothing like 2 beautiful men making music together...

Then it would sound like Barney singing in Electronic, I would be mistaken :nod:
