Heard on KCRW (kcrw.org) an interview with Moby as a guest DJ. Atmosphere (JD) and Temptation (Moby cover is played). Pithy words were spoken.
The interview is recorded and can be downloaded off the site.

Just watched 40 minutes of the interview - lots of discussion on JD and NO, as for the cover - I can't say that I like it (yet), but I'm glad its SO different from the original - it makes you listen to the lyrics instead of wanting to get up 'n' dance! Might grow on me after a few listens.:)
Astute fella Moby, he probably will upset not a few order fans with this cover. It should upset music fans in general coz it's fucking dire.
I couldn't disagree more -- I like this version a lot. This is not an obvious version. 9.5 persons on 10 would have done a cover almost identical to the original.
It reminds me a bit of a New Order cover the band Veruca Salt did several years ago. What was the song they picked again? ![]()
In any case, if you listen to this interview, you'll realize how a huge fan of NewOrder/JoyDivision Moby is. He talks about them for nearly 10 minutes. Very interesting interview.
Nice to know he thought of the reaction of New Order fans and sent the track to Bernard in order to get his approval prior to releasing it. ![]()
Heard Mobys cover on Steve Lamacq last night when he was doing his link chat to the KROQ (or whatever its called) guy.
Credit to him for a complete reinvention but it is a bit cringeworthy while at the same time makes you appreciate Bernards lyrics are really really quality on Temptation.Thats what covers do i guess even if it`s a shit cover it makes yo realise how good the original is.

Moby talks about New Order at 23:30m and Temptation starts at 27:30m
It's quite a nice reworking actually. I would have preferred the tempo to be just a tad bit faster, but not by much. You definitely get a different vibe off a song when it's redone in this way. I'm sure some NO fans will be up in arms over the fact that it's radically different and it's done by Moby but you have to take it for what it is to truly appreciate the song.
It's nice to listen to Moby talking about JD and NO but it doesn't make his version better. Sorry, but I didn't like it. But if it will make people look for the original version and band, it is a good thing in my opinion.
My kids don't like it; my wife HATES it, I'm starting to quite like it. . . so no change there then ![]()

I think it is Moby's ex-girlfriend he was talking about in the interview, laura. He says he sings in 90% of the album, and she sings the rest.
