I'd love it if somebody would record it and send me the NO part in mp3 to archive online.

Between 8pm and 11.30pm is when the live tribute stuff is, so I guess that would be favourite if they're going to do anything.
New Order definitely feature, they've been advertising it all day on Radio 1 and they used one of Barney's soundbites.

Steve and Barney have just talked to the presenter for a while, Crystal in the background for it and the next segment.
It was very interesting to hear Mr. Peel speaking of his experiences here in Dallas. He worked for Republic National Life (before he got into radio), which was where my grandmother worked from 1960 until 1968. Not sure how big the place was, but it got me to wondering if the old lady knew him back then.
He also mentioned a couple of radio stations from Dallas back then, KLIF, which still exists, but they haven't played music in years. They've moved from 1190 to 570, and do talk radio, as well as KBOX. Peel mentions KBOX as a top 40 station, but that must have been before my time, because the only thing I ever remember hearing on KBOX was country music, and I don't even remember where it was on the radio dial...
It was a very interesting show, even if the feed kept cutting out on me!
Listened till about 11.30ish and no NO, other than the chat in the documentry.
There was blinding live set from The Wedding Present tho'
Other live performances that i can remember were PJ Harvey, Damon Albarn, Trencher & Underworld
Let's face it, a retrospective on the life and work of John Peel wouldn't be the appropriate place for the band to talk about a forthcoming release. They will do the necessary press releases etc when the time is right, it certainly won't be leaked by them in conversation on a radio programme like this.

I was lucky enough to go to this John Peel tribute night at Radio 1. The live bands and DJs were from 8pm-1am, and the New Order contribution was merely some soundbites in the pre-recorded documentary (as was advertised beforehand at Radio 1's website).
A really good evening, and very emotional at times (such as when John's wife dedicated 'Does This Train Stop On Merseyside' by Amsterdam to her late husband). I didn't do to much in the way of talking to celebrities, but managed to have a brief chat with Dave Gedge from The Wedding Present, as well as Rob Da Bank - the current stand-in on The Peel Show until the end of the year.
I thought the best part of the evening was the DJs who took it in turns to mix records for just ten minutes each - a really good mixture of styles.
While the DJs played their sets, it felt like the 'last night in the Hacienda' scene from '24 Hour Party People', with many familiar faces from the radio and music world up dancing. Just as Ian Curtis appears on the dance floor in that scene, I half expected to see John lurking about somewhere at the edge of the dancefloor, listening intently to the various styles of music. A great tribute, all in all - sad, yet positive at the same time.
