Does anyone have some sort of recording of the Substance '87 Wembley Arena gig when New Order played all the tracks from 'Substance' in order, followed by 'Love Will Tar Us Apart? It's a gig I'd have love to have attended. Eternally grateful if someone could email me mp3s, etc.

Wembley 87 wasn't a Substance gig - 3rd song in was Way of Life, dedicated to Terry Mason, and they did a typical 87 set rather than the Substance one.
As far as I know they've only done the Substance set twice, at Toronto CNE where they didn't do True Faith but did encore with Age of Consent, and at Irvine Meadows on the same tour, where they did 1-12 Substance and then came back for LWTUA, Atmosphere and Sister Ray.
That'll be the one I'm after then - the Irvine Meadows set: my favourite alll time album played in order live... Anyone got a bootleg???

I was at wembley 87 and can still recall the searchlights scanning over all the heads during Face Up :D

Not from me there isn't, unfortunately, I wiped over mine in the purge of 1990. Wasn't a particularly inspiring gig to these ears.

All I remember is that the Scream were fucking awful. Couldn't wait for them to get off the stage. Who'd have thought that a couple of years later they'd do Screamadelica 
Best thing about this gig was that I was home in under 20 minutes

Mmm, I agree, twas a crap gig, Primals were pants as well. Living in Stanmore, some 10 minutes down the road was the only bonus... Mind you I'd rather have travelled for 12 hours and seen a blinder!!
Big fucking soulless barn - they should have pulled that down instead of the football stadium. Mind you, that was a shithole as well.
I agree, I hate Wembley as a venue, but I enjoyed the gig for two reasons - I was drunk and my brother managed to get us tickets in row 6 - I was right in front of Hooky.
I found the gig on video in Camden Market a year or so later...

If your location is Herts, I guess you're no longer in Stanmore.
Shit gig. Shit venue. Didn't attend NEC 89 cos couldn't face seating for NO again, and standing was all sold out. Went to Wembley in long shorts - grey, like schoolboy shorts, sort of thing that lad from AC/DC wore alas, and it was fcuking FREEZING outside, and then to cap matters we were in a different postcode to the band and couldn't move from our seats. Walked out BEFORE the 2nd encore.
Lived in Brum at the time , 3 of us travelled down to London, SHITE venue , Plastic seats, warm beer in plastic glasses. Primal scream were ok( before they turned into the rolling stones ). Fucking freezing night.
NEC 89 and secc the night before were also SHITE, but hey thats why we love em.
