I have a dream that NO may hit number one with Krafty...depending on what is released the same week. Kids now download most of their music, so if we all buy it, we may see a NO number one again...so come on lets all buy all versions (twice) (give it to your mates) and lets make NO number one again!! Ding Dang Do!! Lets see your thoughts on chart entry......

In the British charts it could go top 3.

In the British charts it could do good. but I dont see it doing well on American charts. I really hope I'm wrong. But American is king of teenie pop and I dont see them letting a bunch of old farts on the radio. And U2 already beat them to the punch as the old band being aloud to play on US radio.

Again I hope I'm wrong. I'm going to buy the UK single of Krafty and the Canadian cd of Sirens. I hope it will help both charts?

It could do well on the American charts if it was marketed well by shoving the links to the Killers and Gwen Stefani down everyone's throats continuously, but that won't happen.

If they had a video of Krafty and Simple Plan or Hoobastank appeared to be playing the song, it would be in the top ten. Or, if New Order pretended to be rappers, maybe it would be in the top 40.

Gut feeling says #8

maybe this time, instead of the "killers" this time on "Krafty", they should have a video with rappers driving about in tricked out cars pretending to mouth the words, while cutting away to a set up with some hot female dancers dancing in unison, with Barney with turntables behind them, Hooky playing bass, and Steve drumming in background.... that would be so funny:laugh:

as for charts in the USA, they are almost meaningless, all the radio is so segregated into preprogrammed genres.... only bland image dance popstars and production heavy rap crossover tracks that can also be played on mainstream dancefloors fill the charts, everything else falls short, the concept orf top ten is pretty much meaningless in the last decade, music is so splintered

Its gonna be just short of the top ten in the UK,because sadly most people will pick it up in Asda (supermarkets dont count do they?),or will take it from BearShare etc. But in theory,if everyone on here made the effort to buy it from HMV then it should hit No.1

It was encouraging to see Manic St Preachers at No 2 so who knows, however i will say  just outside the top ten...about 11 or 12.

It's up to us really - if we buy it, it will chart high. If they promote it, it will chart high.

They've done far better songs that haven't charted that high... so I'd be surprised if it hit the Top 5.

remember one of their worst singles ever made number 1... maybe they need to add an amateur-rapping cricket players this time to the remix or something

I think a lot of people are going to be interested given that this single/record is getting more press and promotion than Get Ready but Krafty seems like one of those songs that if it does climb the charts, it will do it gradually I think. One of those songs that grows on people maybe.

Top 5

If Iron Maiden can make Top 5.. Albeit the week after Christmas when sales are poor.

Sales of 25,000 will get it at least top 2, Maybe even number 1. 30,000 will guarantee number 1. It's not like when they started, when you needed nearly 100,000 to get to the top.

Thats what I mean...if we all go out and buy it and some copies to give to friends we are laughing all the way to Number 1!! NO songs always chart high, especially the 1st single off an album, as they have a strong fan base. Then the next week the chart position plunges cus all the fans have bought it the 1st week. The younger generation also download a load of stuff nowadays rather than buy it, so if we all shift some units down the record shop, it may have a good chance. Do we know what singles are gonna be released on the same day yet???? :confused2:

Does anyone know how many units Regret or Crystal shifted in the 1st week!!!!!!!!

what if fans buy up all the copies of Krafty from everywhere the first week to drive it up to Number 1.... then demand will be high so put your extra Krafty copies on ebay for five times the original before the record company can make more... a win-win situation for you and NewOrder!

DARE I SAY IT ,PROBABLY WONT GET IN THE TOP TEN COS ITS ABSOLUTE PANTS! GOT TO SAY THAT "KRAFTY" HAS GOT TO BE THE MOST DISSAPOINTING SINGLE THAT NEW ORDER HAVE EVER PUT OUT!

In with a bullet at no.6 :thumb:

Then down to 24 after an 'embarrassing' TOTP appearance. :D

For the options above, how can a track get any 'Higher' than the top 10?!

Richard, you any relation to Clive?

Given how low sales need to be these days to get a No.1, I can see no reason why it shouldn't go in at the top, but it will drop off pretty quickly after that. Let's hope the other singles will be stronger, as it will only be the anticipation of new product that sells this one.

Erasure got to number 4. Do you think they have bigger fanbase? On the other hand The Cure with The End Of The World was only number 25.

My tip: No. 2
