Just had a phone call from Liam and a text from Jarvo.
Hooky appeared on stage and said he and Phil have been ill all week, so they weren't gonna be playing. Bit of a bummer that.
But I'm sure the lads will still have a good time.....as long as they keep Jarvo away from the Voddy:D
My ticket is sat here unused - bought it on the off-chance they'd be playing, figured it was for a good cause anyway, and decided not to travel earlier in the week when it became apparent they wouldn't be featuring as a whole band.
Yep, bit of a let down tonight. But as a resulti have an interesting theory.
Hooky came out and said something about "hopefully we can play next time." Now, either this was a case in foot in mouth (i'm sure i'm not the only one who hopes never to have to see another concert like this, if you see what i mean) or he was dropping some kind of hint. On Good Friday, the manchester million campaign reaches its climax with a big event featuring music comedy and the like. I dont think its inconcievable that New Order would play that, if indeed such a event happens. I did notice that the compere tonight tired to divert hookys comments somewhat. Anyway, thats my two cents.
Good meeting jarvo tonight. Didnt see any other onliners tonight though.
i was saying the same thing about the good friday concert to my mates on the way home in the car,but somehow i really don't think i'd be able to talk any of them into going after making them stand through four hours of total rubbish,bar elbow who were quite good,at least it was for a good cause though,but what happened to acr?
And guess who was still in the pub when Hooky was on stage?!

Thought the gig was a bit poor. Am not really a fan of Badly Drawn Boy or Elbow and they don't exactly take the roof off do they? Confess, had never heard Goldblade before - they reminded me of King Kurt!!!
I rather like Goldblade, they certainly know how to whip themselves up, if not always an audience! That "Do You Believe In The Power Of Rock n' Roll" has got a cracking guitar riff, really powerful stuff.
