Hopefully Digitalis Michaelmus can support this campaign. They could replace Blue Monday in the forthcoming live set with Hurt.

  1. About the same length

  2. Could be easily re-programmed

  3. Classic Hooky bass

  4. Lyrics easily learned again

  5. Sequencers and synth effects par excellence

  6. Probably confuse the general rank and file at gigs who would think it is a new song.

I am all in favour of this suggestion.

ME TOO!! GOOD ONE :thumb:

Yeah, anything that freshens the live set up a bit more. From memory the Get Ready set was vey similar to the 98 set other than the new songs and Digial.

They probably dont even remember this song anymore. Good thing by the way cos I actually think it sucks.

Hurt ?? Woo-hoo !! Yeah, it would be great, man ! I'm a bit afraid they'd find our suggestions too far from WFTSC if it sounds like Krafty... :skeptic:

EGG would be better. but i'd rather listen to hurt than krafty lol

--------> Blue Monday, Touched, 60 Miles, Rock the shack <-------- Age of consent, Dreams never end, Perfect Kiss, Sunrise

Sorted.

Hate to say it but unless they are doing a big ass tour then they need to play BM. Coachella is not just for NO fans but for many people whose only recognition of NO is BM. Like when I went to Inland Invasion III and saw the dude from Soft Cell. The only song of his I wanted to hear was Tainted Love, well Sex Dwarf and frustration. And I was pretty damned bored until he played Taint Love.

Then again, if they are able to pull of some 1982-84 NO energy and experimental setlist, keep BM in.

If they do want to play Blue Monday there has to be 90 seconds of synth/drum machine break down which ends with Barney telling the audience to fuck off.

Or am i stuck in the 80s.

when have they last played "Hurt" live?

this whole thread is just plain silly. New Order would think you are daft. how about a similar drive to bring back "We All Stand" live also. why not play "Ecstasy"... heck they had a song for the drug before it even got its popular name! 'bout time they got some 'spect!

Everything Gone green is timeless thou, but I dont think they know how to do synths anymore, they just play computer programs "live"

Of course it's silly, but then again so is expecting them to play anything off Technique or even Repuiblic besides Regret. Incidentally, EGG is only as timeless as any other song they haven't played since 1987......

Why worry over programming? For me, they could get the master tapes, lift the sequenced parts and do a Bass/guitar/drums and vocals Karaoke over it, I'd just love to hear some of the old songs again.

Most sensible suggestion I have seen on here.

You have my full support :thumb:

Listening to the Paradise Garage 1983 version...

Yes, yes, bring it back, preferrably on the old skewl, unreliable-as-fuck vintange equipment..

C'mon, Do it. Do it. Do it. Do it..

if only it was still 1982

I would rather see Chosen Time or Paradise, i'm not really a listener of Hurt. TPK should definately be played. I think they need to play all their main hits this time around, wasn't too keen on the setlist last time around.

They should just play the songs every1 knows, with a few rare ones from brotherhood or something. I'd like to see Dream Attack, no JD songs hopefully.
