Krafty to be backed by remixes

Backed by remixes from Phones, The Glimmers, Riton & Andy Green.

Very disappointing considering they are carrying forward tracks to the next album. Seems like an unfortunate time to even think about not buying all UK versions of the singles.

I hope this pattern won't be repeated with the following singles, but a precedent has been set.

well its not good news for their sales. i for one will not be buying it without a good b side. i think its the most feeble thing they've every released.

Well if they keep all their leftover tracks for a new album, then we may see the next album released in a year and more tour dates for 2006, which is a good thing, but I would have liked a decent b-side for the singles thouhg.

Too right mate. I'll buy anything that's in the shop. I've always regetted (non-intended pun) not buying all the various singles of Republic. In 1993 I gave up after 2 of them.

"leftover tracks"... are these solid tracks that are different, or just the ones that didnt make the cut but they still like? i'd just as soon have the songs out with the singles...

and isnt this all dependant on them getting back in the studio during the summer or autumn to record the rest of the record? i think people are being too optimistic here.

Let's hope they dont release one of those crappy half leftover studio tracks filler albums mixed with live tracks or more remixes/ alternative mixes just to put some product on the shelves and end the contract or something. New Order has never done taht, and hopefully still wont... even the Fall did it again

this is great news. i don't expect the rock n roll loving idiots on this site to know RITON but they are excellent electronic composers and news of them mixing NewOrder is sweet music to my ears. What did TPK have? BLT? Blue Monday? All classic singles with REMIXES on them, not B-sides. i thought useless complaining was my forte but others have the same disfunction that effects me. Bring on the mixes, i've got a feeling they're going to be awesome.

and thats true, New Order has a long remix tradition since 1983, considering the remix the bonus, they have said in interviews that singles should always have something extra not on the album... of "white music" bands they were of the first. The Clash are the first I can remember to at least have "dub" mixes, but that was more reggae influenced

Lets just hope the remixes are decent.

Yeah, I don't care if its b-sides or remixes, just as long as they're _good_ b-sides or remixes (I still feel ill at the thought of that superman lovers mix).

And will it be a simple single cd single release or will they mess around with 2cd singles, extra mixes on the Japanese version, rare promo only mixes only to be found on ebay, pointless vinyl-only mixes etc?

Yes, but you only had to buy a 12" (& 7" if there was one) single in those days. Now it is CD1, CD2, 12" and DVD singles and those singles weren't on an album or were very different from the album version.

I'm no fan of remixes, I don't particularly like the BLT 12" .

I'm a little disappointed. I like songs not remixes. I'm to old for remixes.

I will still get the singles, but its not going to be as sweet.

As far as the extra track on the Japanese version. I bet it will be a remix of Krafty, just like repubic had remixes of regret on it.
