Perhaps I have missed something, but does anybody know what happened to 'Player In The League'. I remember it was mentioned in a NME pre-review as a track on Get Ready. Is it available in any format, or will it be in the near future? I think it is a beautiful song and it would be in my top 3 of GR, together with Crystal and PN.

Dunno either. Guess they could be holding the track back to put out with the Chemical Brothers collaboration 'Here To Stay'.
i suppose "Player in the League" was meant to be the third b-side of a third single-release off Get Ready...but when we look at the sales of "60 mph" i really doubt that there is going to be a third single. I think they're going to release the chemicals collaboration instead...
...but it's a cool track, i like it a lot...

Player in the league..Behind closed doors and Sabotage...all great tracks, of the 3 - I would have put Player on the album - without removing any of the album tracks

Yeah - the vexed question raises its head yet again - why couldn't have all these extra tracks been included on "Get Ready"? We wait eight years for something and just TEN poxy tracks on a single slab of (hard to find) vinyl is all we get, plus a whole load of insultingly rank remixes that stink to high heaven and B-sides that are better than the A-sides? Sometimes I wonder whether there's any point in supporting New Order anymore if they lack such quality control.
Truly, they - or, more likely their fucking record company, have let this fan down desperately badly.
As if 2001 isn't crushingly PANTS enough, New Order sneak back and truly UNDERACHIEVE.

Yip - I'd have to agree with the both of you - for a change, I would have loved to see all 3 tracks on the album - and the CD singles - should be 1 CD with the original single, remix that sounds not too far away from the original (perfecto mixes..) and an original B-side not a "throw-away track"

Behind closed doors is absolute wank. I hate the singing, lyrics, melody, drums... in fact everything about the track. But Sabotage is a great track... should've replaced slow death on the album.
Hey, I agree with you guys too. Actually my feelings on the subject have been aired here many times since August. Cue apocalypse.

On the contrary, I love this song. Somehow, it sounds like some tracks of Unknown Pleasures. I burned an enhanced Get Ready CD with BCD, Sabotage and Player in the League. Yesterday, as I was listening to it in random mode, Behind Closed Doors came just before Smoke the Crack. Although both songs have nothing in common, I was amazed by how their sequence sounded perfect. You should experience that: the end of Shutting Doors (and Staying Behind)followed by the first measures of Rocking the Shite. Fookin' great, and I mean it.
Should have chucked those B sides on the album - dropped one of those daisy cutter bombs on Slow Jam, and chucked iN Brutal to the album as well. Then Reworked some old tracks/chucked on the Peel sessions form '98/ or slammed in some live tracks as B-sides.

And I totally agree with you there - If "Sabotage" (aka RTRD) was the A-side instead of "60 pointless millimetres an hour", it could have been a far better record - and possibly even a bigger hit - being as it would have been, A NEW SONG, NOT lifted from the album: Something I fucking wish New Order would go back to doing again (stand-alone singles not taken from LPs that is... how I miss those).
