Electronic... Until The End Of Time!

Considering that very few appear for sale, then I'd say it's a pretty reasonable price...
I finally managed to grab one for less than 50 quid about 6 months ago on e-bay, because hardly anybody else had noticed that the auction existed, but if known, then the price will go sky-high...
I know that it took me 7 years to finally grab one...
l8rs,
Nick ;)
You sure youre not trying to make yourself feel better about paying so much? I wouldnt pay that much myself.
Well, I grabbed it for 30 quid, myself, but have seen it go for 125 quid on another occasion! ![]()
And the annoying thing about it is that I *did* send that inlay that came with the "Release The Pressure" CD, which was supposed to enable you to grab one of them for a couple of quid... Never got the offer... ![]()
So, the moral of the story is that if you've got a spare copy for sale, sell it on ebay and make a packet! ![]()
l8rs,
Nick ;)
When i was a poor student (violins) in 1997 i received a letter through the post from Parlaphone asking if i wanted to order this because it was only available as a mail order release. Being skint i never got round to sending a cheque off for £5ish and i've regretted it since. ![]()
Un-fucking-believable! It's gone for £113.11!! ![]()
That is sad, I mean I'm actually very disappointed in myself for considering bidding on it when it was at £70! But I monitored it in the final few minutes and once it shot up to beyond £80 I was out. Lucky thing I didn't even bid. Hope this Kevin Mulvihill enjoys it because it's certainly taken a big enough chunk out of his wallet in the process.
As a member of the Electronic fan club I too mailed off for my copy of the UTEOT CD single in '97 but at the time I did not think it was worth much so traded it for a LWTUA CD Single
I wasn't "into remixes" then and for some bizarre reason held the LWTUA single as "more desireable"; I've regretted it ever since. I held onto some shitty 160kbps MP3s of my original CD but back then my PC was so shit the K-Klassic mix had a subtle skip in it which made things even worse.
Last year however I contacted a mate who owned a copy, got him to do a secure mode EAC (Exact Audio Copy) set of CUE/WAV files from his original CD and transfer them to me over MSN (cheers N21!) As the wave file was only about 200 MB or so it took no time at all. So in the end I got what I really wanted: a good few TDK CD-Rs containing a perfect duplicate of the CD single thanks to EAC and N21. All my PC MP3 players recognise it AS the CD Single. Naturally my CD-Rs are worth next to nothing compared with the original release, but the audio is definitely the same and the artwork was never spectacular anyway so I'll live.
When I burned my CD-Rs I ripped VBR 192-224 JS MP3 files from them, they sound magnificent on me iPod, listening to them now in fact!
So every cloud.... :D Sod paying £115!!!!

Hi Ally.
It was me...and you can blame it on it being 7:30 in the morning and I was up all night.
I just tried to type a long email explaining why I bid what I bid but for some reason (not the first time this has happened) the server rejected my post...is there a limit on amount of text that can be posted?
Long story short...
--There are only a few things left on my wants list that I don't yet have...this was one.
--I too got ignored/rejected after sending in multiple copies of the fanclub and request cards in the later 90's.
--I have paid a lot less for many of the items in my collection than many others on this board...so it kinda all evens out imo...although $200 is a LOT to even out.
--$200 is only two dinners out with the family...and I will enjoy this much more than two dinners ![]()
--Only seen this thing for sale a few times...and since my "NO collection" budget is flush after not buying much for awhile.
--I have found that when I get access to these kinds of items (yes I have mp3's too) that its easier to participate in the altruism that everyone who's been on this board for awhile shows everyone else...if you know what I mean ;)
--It was mint.
Anyway...I shake my head too at the pricing for items...e.g. the recent Krafty promos and Scarf for example.
Now go ahead and make fun of me ![]()

Congrats on finding the cd mr m.
I too know how difficult it is to resist temptation to pay a high price for goods on ebay, especially the items that are needed to finalise a collection.
i still need an ideal for living 1st press to more or less complete my jd collection, but i'm sure i saw a post on here that said that one went on ebay for £900!
Now that reallty is too higher a price to pay for that particular item.
I would probably pay up to £150 for a minty mint copy but i wouldnt go any higher.
same with the remixes in motion cd pro too,i've seen four on ebay in the last few years the last one selling for £225 far too much, yes it is rare but is it really worth it?
i bailed out of the bidding after £60.
if its any consolation mate i would "probably" paid the amount you did just for the sake of finalising my collection.
This collecting business is all well and good but sometimes you can go over the top, like some people,no names mentioned here but you know who i'm talking about!
anyway enjoy the cd tis another rareity to add to your collection!
regards

Thats only for a download of the album version Tony, not for a copy of the unissued cd single.
Electronic puts out some kick ass singles! Free Will, in my opinion is nothing short of SUPERB!!! It's arguably my favorite instrumental song ever made! I'd pay over $1000 U.S. for it if I didn't own it already :)
