I love what I have heard off the new album, lots of good material. And Jetsream shows that they can still make killer dance tracks too! let's face it, I don't think we will see any more videos like the one for Regret.
Now they just need to play some US gigs and i'll be happy.
jetstream? cmon. 'you are my jetstream lover'? FFS what RPM do you reckon IC is up to spinning in his grave?

Everyone's entitled to their opinion of course but to be honest stuff like "New Order RIP" is over the top bollocks and uniquely your loss. There are a whole raft of superb tracks on this new album with Turn, Morning Night And Day, and Who's Joe? being immediate standouts. Jetstream and Guilt.. (which I think is class) may not be your cup of tea if you dislike electronic music, but as dance tracks they readily hold their own with the Ana Matronic connection on the former making it an excellent choice for a successful single.
Even Dracula's Castle is growing on me... I think it boils down to the album being a "grower". Anyone who expects to stick on an album created by songwriters of New Order's calibre and everything to "click" instantly is being incredibly naive. Give it a chance, I'd be much more interested in your opinion after one month of solid listening rather your current miserable one.

I agree, fans who want it to be 1983 again with New Order churning out PC&L clones are simply tedious to debate with. Everything evolves, everything changes (well aside from those fans!) 
While WFTSC is admittedly no huge departure from "New Order's sound" I wouldn't really want it to be. For a band of near-50 year olds knocking out a record like this is fucking cool. They've still got their finger on the pulse, know what they like and have constructed eleven new songs out of that and that's good enough for me.
This new album just keeps growing on me, I'm so relieved. The guitars on this record seem much better, clearer and almost jangly compared to the dirgey way they were produced on Get Ready. 2001's album was the band trying to be Joy Division again and failing miserably. They will never be Joy Division again quite simply and obviously because Ian and Hannett are gone. That's a good 45% of what made Joy Division truly special out of the window. Finally, anyone who equates loud guitars with "balls" is talking shite. It takes balls to write a good melody rather than strum an electric guitar on loud distortion.
It's always the same though, you can't please all of the people all of the time. I think the reaction to this new LP has been mostly very promising and I think that's totally deserved. You always get the few who hate it and bury their heads in everything pre-new album. Their loss completely.

Most of the tracks are genuinely catchy though, far more hit single potential than on Get Ready I think. And improvement on that album too... so I'm reasonably satisfied with it.
EXCEPT FOR THE CHEESE THAT IS JETSTREAM!!

seriously if you are happy to listen to lots of the worst lyrics ever and dull for the numbers tunes then thats fine by me you carry on and dont forget to watch the brits for more ideas of great stuff you can buy.
i was expecting get ready to suck - but it didnt it rocked. it had some balls. sounds like this latest album was made whislt they were sober and looking at their bank accounts. and the production is too clear leaving barney's voice and lyrics dangerously exposed to real scrutiny.
what do i like? guilt, hey now and turn. seem to have a little go to them.
but draculas castle? FFS! Ace of Bass? FFS!
and when they play live dont forget to stand down the front and cheer the tape player and autocue
I guess some people are facing the reality that they evolved in their musical tastes and New Order is no part of it.
It's ok, it's normal when aging... but that doesn't mean that the band is doing anything wrong.

Hell yeah the lyrics are fookin awful, cheesey and sickening.....may I draw yer attention to Mr Disco for example? barney's prbably taking the piss. besides it is a stunningly good piece of music ( and along with some of the other tracks on the album, seems to feature something SO BLOODY OBVIOUS I cannot for the life of me believe that I've never heard it before.....vocoding Barney and Dawn together). Don't reckon it'll be my first choice to demo NO#s edgy genius to me mates like, but so what, Barney has ALWAYS yearned to make the perfect pop song, there are expressions of this desite all over the place from PCL onwards, that's all jetstream is.
Sounds like a case of the Republics, where literally thousands of screaming fans ran to the hills to take cover - their towns and cities ruined in a day.
It could be argued that 'We All Stand' was an equivalent lull with, say, 'Rock the Shithouse'. Taking umbrage at this point, with such positive Ordering on the new album, seems more akin to a natural parting of the ways - man goes left, New Order go right; its amicable, it happens.
Having only played the album about 6 times i must admit that i REALLY like it a lot.It has some brilliant music,some of the naffest lyrics and some great HOOKS all messed together.This is the first album for me that has been discussed before it's release as i was not around for GET READY.I have been amazed at a lot of the bad vibes coming from some quarters.I remember as a kid(yes that long ago) it could take months to listen and
enjoy some of the SO CALLED CLASSICS being played then.Now everyone seems to want music to be like a VIDEO GAME.Instant ,loud and DISPOSABLE.Well i am HAPPY with this album.And despite all the crap in my LIFE at the moment this is a JOY.

i can't understand how Get Ready rocks and is great while WFTSC sucks
...and Get Ready had some of Barney's worst lyrics, and some of the lamest female NO vocals ever, how can you go pointing fingers at WFTSC
the production IS different on WFTSC... but i could hardly see how one could say that it lacks "balls"?
I like the album so far, apart from Jetstream. Yipes. I can't even bare to listen to that song any more. What's all the hype with Scissor Sisters anyway? Totally overrated, like the Killers and Interpol.

You have to search for it in soulseek (pc), limewire (mac)...
