I'm working hard these days to get our registered members something for the upcoming releases from local Warner Music offices.

So far, I have agreements with:

Warner Music Sweden (10 LP albums and 10 t-shirts, but might change for something else) Warner Musique France (5 albums and 15 Krafty singles) Warner Music Canada (not determined yet)

I have also contacted the following:

Warner Music UK Reprise Records (USA)

Reprise might not be a problem, but Warner UK has always been the black sheep, so I can't garantee I'll have something for UK members :(

If your country is not listed, it's because I'm having a very hard problem to contact other offices, but I believe Warner offices in Germany, Australia, Brazil, Japan and Benelux should be a part of this. You can try to contact the local Warner office in your country and get me the email of the person I need to contact for such giveaway competitions. Usually this person is the "New Media Director".

My goal is to have all these contest at the same time, you enter directly your country's contest when answering a simple question and leave your snail mail address. I'm also doing all I can to avoid any shipping fees.

Stay tuned! Should be a nice month in March! :thumb:

unfortunately here the argies don´t know anything about Warner Argentina. they don´t have a webpage, an email, an address... it´s like a ghost company. we tried almost everything but there not seem to be a way to contact them. believe me, they exist and they release records! but we can´t find them. weird...

Warner UK: Contact done, but good contact one isn't answering. Warner US: Finally got a reply, thanks to the band's management, but they are taking forever to reply. Warner Germany: Contacted! Got a reply... waiting. Warner France: Competition agreed, except they don't ship. Warner Australia: Contact done, replied, waiting. Warner Sweden: Competition agreed, standby. Warner Canada: Promotion agreed, waiting for a reply. Warner Brazil: Contact done, replied, waiting.

So, what's left? Warner Japan? I can't read a damned site from them, so I can't really contact them... :(

No, I thought I'd give buying this a miss...what with all the negative reviews here and all...

Of course I'll buy it Chargie; I'll be scouring JB HiFi from March 25th onwards, just in case they get an early delivery from WMA. I can safely assume it was you who put Nic in touch with Nick @ WMA for this? Good work:thumb: ctb :bear:

Agh, stupid question wasn't it.

Nic, it has to be said that you are a complete bastard for getting a copy of that 7-track promo. After I put you on to him and all.

Warner Japan don't show their e-mail adress on HP, though I can wait for their reply who to contact by telling my e-mail adress and probably yours too, if it's OK. Someone who can contact in English may answer back to you if they're interested. :)

Well, I'll be curious to see how many aussies will subscribe to the contest, but let's say you have your chances.

I'll post the results just before the release date, but still, you will have them later than the shops, so...

*FINALLY it arrived in my town today! Most of the music is crap as ever on these compilation... the last good one I remember was an Indipendent Top 20 from 1992 with great tracks by shoegazing bands like Revolver and Swervedriver, but then Britpop came and ruined everything... This CD is no exception: what do we make of bands like Kaiser Chiefs and The Libertines? Other bands are more inspired by new wave, like Franz Ferdinand or The Killers, but ultimately they suffer a lack of true talent. BUT there's still hope after all, The Futureheads (as good as early XTC) and The Others (think Damon Albarn singing Song 2 in Joy Division!) are quite good, they make that kind of noise with that much of inspiration we thought we wouldn't have ever heard again. I think I'll want to hear more from them. I was absolutely impressed by Bloc Party, this is the true revelation... last time I was so excited when hearing a new band it was Campag Velocet, must have been 6 or 7 years ago... it's a pity the singer sounds like a slowed down Morrissey, but the music... people, the fookin music here is amazing... there's this heartbreaking beginning, really touching... great drumming (sort of live Truth rhythm), fabulous bass and an emotional guitar last heard from the Cocteau Twins or say, Long Fin Killie... I really hope these three bands have all the good luck they deserve, we need bands like these to fight all the other fake stuff around... OF COURSE New Order tower above everything, they're older but light years ahead of everyone here, this is how new bands should sound like instead of trying to sound like Gang Of Four with the result of sounding so inferior to them... I Told You So is the outstanding track of the compilation and that's great promotion for the album... :thumb: Is it my impression that this final mix is slightly different from the promo MP3s? I think some noises have been enhanced here and there, the balance between the tracks is also slightly adjusted, but then maybe this is just because this is the CD and not just the MP3...

Hey Here is the address of Warner Music in Switzerland. So far I heard absolutely nothing at all from Warners about the new album. It is only listed as a new release on April 1, CD and Vinyl.

When "Get Ready" came out quite a few posters were hung up on walls around Zürich - First time this ever happened with a New Order Release here in Switzerland. At "Citydisc" Record Store they had very cool free 6-page foldout-leaflets.

Hope they will do something similar this time around.

Cheers

Roland

Hope these guys will sponsor something for New Order online....:

Tell her my promo was hijacked by brazilian postmen, because it didn't get here at all... even the NME issue was received before, so I lost all hopes of seeing it over here...
