remixers for wftsc tracks?

who do you think should take a crack at remixing singles from wftsc? i'm guessing there have been past threads about potential remixers for other albums. this thread is more about daydreaming + suggesting more recent artists who might do a good job.

my 2 picks:

mylo - i'm guessing he's gotten some exposure in the uk. his destroy rock & roll lp was my fave from last year. dance and pop music with slight electronic flavor.

cut copy - another fave from last year. manages to do '80s synthpop without sounding cheesy.

also, 2 old-timers i'd like to see take a shot are underworld and weatherall.

Royksopp for my money. But its unlikely to happen. Probably end up with a fuckin shite club mix by Shapeshifters or Judge Jules.

there's nothing wrong with remixers - it's totally an art that you have to appreciate, esp. if you go clubbing.

a remix is just another way to promote and get exposure, but artistically, it's a reinterpretation of the song. sometimes done skillfully, sometimes just plain crappy. there are a lot of great remixers out there though.

underworld, sasha, groove armada, james zabiela, luke chable all have my vote.

Sasha is a great DJ Eric,and he makes some great stuff (Airdrawndagger is a classic). But i doubt he could do NewOrder-i wouldn`t want a 15 minute remix of I Told You So!

trying to think of who else would be good...

riton (who has done krafty) is an interesting choice, i've liked his remix of mylo.

chembros might be an obvious if somewhat blase candidate.

metro area maybe? they could tackel the reggaefied track and discofy it... err... i've already purged the title of the track from my memory. :D

i agree about baker. baker would be good.

who are some others you'd include in the group alongside baker? i guess it depends on what sort of new order tracks we like, and past remixers we've liked. how about shep pettibone, if he's still around?

oh and i propose we resurrect martin hannett and see what he'd do with the latest tracks... he prolly thinks it's a giant pile of shite... :)

his mixes are now about 7 minutes at most. you should check out his "involver" compilation which is a dj mix of tracks that he remixed himself to heighten the dj exclusivity. supposedly, there are further installments of involver later on which will have new mixes, so hopefully, maybe a new order tune can show up on one? please, sasha?

i think dj shadow or cut chemist should do a remix.

i wrote that before on a previous version of this thread.

dexter (ex-avalanches) would be another good one along the same line. have you heard his short mix of chem bros, where he basically did a mash-up of several chems tunes? one of those remixes that i wish were much longer.

he is a fan of NO as well so it's always possible. If he could do something like what he did to Grand national's Talk amongst yourselves I'd be well happy.

The Phones mix of Krafty is good. Paul Epworth's a good producer.

Otherwise I'd like to see a proper Thin White Duke mix of Jetstream or Guilt

I'd love to see the band do their own remixing. But that ain't gonna happen so in lieu of that....

I say Chemical Brothers. :D
