not quite as angry as you, but I understand your frustration. I've seen new order several times in the states, the shows were short, but I truly loved them. From what I hear the boys hate touring, and only hate touring the states worse. But I have no doubt they would sell out across north america if they do come. perhaps will can lure them with promises of virgins and diet coke?

Basil you've cracked it! What we need to do is find a way of getting all the lucky British fans who get to see them 586 times a year to come over to the States, and maybe then their good mates the band themselves will come over to see what all the fuss is about. Simple really!

Being the same age as the band, I can completely sympathize with their lack of passion for touring. I have a similar lack of passion for spending a ridiculous sum of money and traveling a thousand miles to some sunburnt desert shitehole to see a band that doesn't give a toss about its fans.

Having seen the NME broadcast, I really don't want to bother with paying an exorbitant sum to stand under a blazing sun to watch Barney mangle one song after another with his whsitling, shouting, and "dancing" anyway. The records are much, much better, and can be had for reasonable money. Besides, if I want to see a live performance, sooner or later the Cure will come through town, because Robert Smith does care about his fans.

Just as long as the tapers and FM broadcasts are able to go to the few gigs they do....

Robert Smith refuses to have children. Steve's daughter is ill, Peter and Barney have children with their second wives. Just like that interview said, they like weekend gigs, gives em something to look forward to. They paid their dues but it hurts knowing that most of us will not have an opportunity to see themonce again.

I think if they did the occasional weekend gig, they'd have some satisfied fans. Jet across the Atlantic, play a gig or two, jet back home.
