Good news fellow old people!

The 16 year old lad down the road has just e-mailed me to say that him and his mates were listening to WFTSC in their RE class this afternoon. Apparantly they are all mad on NO at the moment.

If only we can get this age group to go and buy the album rather than download the thing we are onto a winner!

They obviously have not seen the NME performance then!

This has really pleased me cus I always thought there were no "young" NO fans out there! Looks like they are gonna be a cult band with students again eh! Any oppinions???

They've always had intergenerational appeal - I convinced at least three people to buy Get Ready on the back of them buying the Crystal single after the Lifestyle Sports ad that ran with it for nearly a year.

However, my age group basically don't buy CD's anymore...

im just not sure if i was 16 i would find new order edgy enough for me, i hope im wrong. though my 13 year old nephew has started asking me about them, so i think i may be able to drag him into the fold, all i need to do is convince his hundred hoody wearing skater/goth/whatever they are called mates to join in.

Great, Lee... And it wouldn't be the first time I hear teenagers try to listen to records of their parents and become New Order fans without anybody trying too hard... I think New Order can appeal to the most sensitive young people because their sound, their talent for tunes, their inventiveness make their music more advanced when compared to the contemporary trend... todays music is boring and predictable, when you hear New Order you hear something unique and special... the most of their music has an 80s sound, and yet seems like coming from the future... And even if you like todays music, now a lot of it is influenced by Joy Division or New Order, so it's just right you like the real thing...

Both my kids (aged 4 and 2 respectively) like New Order.

However, this is more to do with a systematic brainwashing campaign on my part than any element of choice on theirs.

I'm doing the same to mine (7,6,2) 7 has her own NO mix CD at this stage, they all sing along to Crystal, Isolation, BM.

I just sold my car to a girl today and I had WFTSC in the car to show her the CD worked.

I asked her if she liked New Order, her bemused shrug told me all I needed to know.

I told her to keep the CD and get into the best British band ever.
