Been listening to this song from the NOOL audio archives. Very good, I love the lyrics and the song just sounds totally different to the version from the Best Of album, a lot better. Was just wondering why the band didn't decide to do much with it, surely it should of been on the Best Of album instead of "Nothing For Me". I was also wondering if anyone has a high quality mp3 of the orginal anywhere, because the quality of the one in the archives is pretty bad.

I'm no expert on this, but I always gathered that this version was a demo and probably not ever recorded with very high quality. I do agree, though, that this version is far superior to the version that was eventually released - and features some of Barney's best lyrics, like:

As the sun falls in to place There must be an answer somewhere feel the rain upon your face I just need to know that you care

it was recorded properly the first time, along with the rest of low life. then re-recorded for salvation and then again with arthur baker (the version on the 1963 cd single)

Could any1 out there send me the mp3 off the 1963 single?

Well, I have the (nothing for me version) & the instrumental version that I think is off of salvation. So there is another version that was for low-life? What is that one like?
