New Order Full Frontal

Ever so slightly silly poll! , but IMO it has to be Hooky of course. If New Order had Gillian on vocals they would have achieved about as much success as The Other Two (Harsh but true). Hooky vs. Barney? Barney wins of course but next to Electronic, Monaco's Music for pleasure LP really gave Barney and Johnny (Marr, the best guitarist of the 80s remember) a run for their money make no mistake. Compare MFP and the first Electronic LP and you would get a draw most of the time. Both very classic LPs, I would not like to declare a clear winner... they both have strengths and weakenesses, although as the biased Monaco fan I can't really see anything of Wdywfm?'s strength or chart potential on "Electronic", barring maybe GAWI, which despite being a good tune, contains unnecessarily soppy lyrics! (C'mon "I love you more than you love meeeee?") As for Steve, well I've never really heard his vocals so can't comment, but I'm sure he was excluded for a reason and he himself has never seen fit to include his own voice on TOT songs. Too shy? I have the premix version of Ceremony with him on vox but it's too shit quality to make an informed decision IMO.

Aside from the side project argument, for Hooky we also have Dreams Never End :D Hooky's vocals may never have been perfect, but he does "Shine" (no pun intended) on some of the Monaco/Revenge stuff and I would direct naysayers to Tender and State Of Shock. Both excellent songs.
