I have been showing off bits and pieces of WFTSC to friends who weren't really one way or the other about New Order. I now have about 4 or 5 of them sold on WFTSC and some of the old stuff too!

All of them seemed to like Guilt is a Useless Emotion, Dracula's Castle, and Hey Now What You Doing best...this ain't yo daddy's New Order!

What I am wondering is if anybody else has been doing Warner's dirty work and promoting this album? Also, what kind of success is everyone having at it?

Well.Hmmm.Ive never believed in forcing my musical tastes down my friends throats because i know it irritates me when people try to make me listen to other stuff. Its better they hear it of their own accord on the radio or whatever

Actually it was me playing a compilation disc in my house with some of the new stuff on it and I've been asked what it was or I've mentioned it was the new New Order stuff. Hardly forcing it down anybody's throat.

Also, in North America only Blue Monday, The Perfect Kiss, and Bizarre Love Triangle make the radio here. I didn't hear ONE song from Get Ready and I listen to a # of stations everyday when I am at work. ( I even made numberous requests for Crystal)

It irritates you when people want to share something they like with you? I encourage it, broadenns my horizons and gives us all something other than the weather to talk about.

The reason why this website exists is because a friend of mine got me into New Order...

That's Sébastien of course.

So forcing people to like the band? You simply give them a mixed tape (or CD these days) and the music will do the job itself.

If they can't appreciate, then, you did your part!

You forgot True Faith of course.

Crystal made it to the radio over here.. but only one rock station, not the very commercial ones. And this is North America ;)

Hey, seen the uncensored Krafty video at 7.30 AM on MTV Italia! :thumb: It was marked as "MTV exclusive", they use that mark only with important new videos (two or three each week), so maybe there's some promotion here too... The few persons who have heard something from the new album, they all like it, and they don't usually like New Order... I think these songs have a huge potential for many different listeners... Smiths fans may like Hey Now, Joy Division fans may like Hey Joe, electro fans can like Told You So (a huge grower and a very well instrumented song) and Guilt, pop fans can like the title track and Krafty, rock fans can like Turn... I think what people will appreciate most is the varied and clear sound, the brilliant production, the light and easy songwriting, just like with Technique, while Get Ready was wonderful but darker and heavier and was more enjoyed by new wave fans...

How is the censored video different from the one we've all seen Mick? The one I've seen wouldn't make it onto UK TV before 9pm at night...

*I don't know if there's a censored version, I just saw the uncensored version and I was happy it could be shown on morning TV, but then Italian TV is a bit more relaxed on sex, only just, but still more than the Americans', I guess...

Hey, Nic: the link on the E Mail messages of the subscribed threads doesn't work anymore, that link brought to the old forum before, but now it just brings to a page with links to the main sections...
