I've finally found time to do a brain numbing amount of scanning here are the cheeky copyright crossing articles alluded to in previous threads needless to say - anyone who can actually get their hands on the originals should rather than just accessing my poorer quality copies

Interview with Stephen Hague in Sound On Sound feature about the recording of True Faith (SOS April05) 2.9MB

Mojo magazine 18 page feature on Joy Division and New Order with new photos and exclusive interviews (Mojo April05) 10.4MB

3.9MB compressed version

I've posted this one up already but the thread dropped out within moments so I'll flag up this article from 1986 once again. 2.3MB download Interview in Mix magazine once again the shout goes out 'does anyone remember shelleyan orphan?'

sorry about the scale of some of these PDF downloads - I've tried to retain some legibility.

I do remember a rather pneumatically-chested young lady called Shelley Anne Davies.....fairly adjacent, as Richie Benaud would say!

Shelleyan Orphan....supported The Cure on the Disintegration tour alongside the Pixies (Prayer Tour, wasn't it called?). I seem to remember that it was the band of Cure drummer Boris Williams and his wife. Maybe my head is in my arse though (probably).

I saw and loved Shelleyan Orphan in Massachusetts open for the Cure in 1989 or so....

I was tripping out of my skull, couldn't handle the idiotic cure fans all dressed in black pseudo goth gear, all frothing at the mouth for the hero Robbie Smith, so I had to leave, and ended up finding the center of the universe, a small rock actually, in the parking lot.... but I heard (from outside in the vast wasteland parking lot, which via lsd was actually a better place to be than the open air arena, i could hear everything perfect outside...) the lady from Orphan come out and sang with Smith on the Cure encore, and she rocked. a particularly memorable voice, she had.

what ever happened to her? they were better than the Cure...

by the way, I still have the center of the universe. Should I pawn it on Ebay?
