Any of you London-based (or sufficiently devil-may-care to want to travel in) up for a pre-Xmas piss-up ?

Me and Johnny Giles have already made 'tentative' plans to meet up with Mickey Way (formerly known as Mr Disco), though it's a mare trying to organise, what with the amount of do's on, etc.

Think I'm only currently free next Sat'dee though the two afore-mentioned lads are season ticket holders at footie clubs a long, long way from town so not sure of their plans just yet.

That's true, I've got footy Saturday as well, versus the might of Newport IOW !! Best make it New Year. Friday 4th Jan. Barney's birthday !!

Indeed, make it Jan 4th then. Mickey Way knows a bar in Islington which does Joy Division cocktails, although probs best to do a Soho trip, or something. Somewhere central anyways.

The Elbow rooms in Islington's owned by Arthur Baker. He plays there quite often or brings his old mates in on Sunday's. Been a couple of times - not a bad place at all. Jan 4th could be a plan, if I've got over the depression of remembering it'll be Easter before I get any more time off work.

I'd be well up for a piss-up down there - only trouble is - it would have to be a fucking Saturday:mad:

Yep, count me in if anythings arranged. The bar that does NO/JD cocktails is called the Embassy on Essex Road though there's plenty of other decent bars dotted around Islington as well.

I can be in London for about 7.30-8.00pm this Satdee. Was going to see JTQ in the evening at the Jazz Cafe but the whole bloody week has been sold out! Who said that Acid Jazz is dead!

Heard from Johnny Giles, Mickey, and he's away up north from Friday, and I'm at the Gallery Friday anyways, which usually leaves me fuct for about 3 days afterwards! Mr Jauncey suggested a drink Jan 4th, so that might be the best option, or move it to the 5th, depending on everyone's footie schedules!!

I may pop down to the Gallery meselfs friday. I'll keep an eye out for you if I do. Think I may be watching the mighty Stags vs Leicester on the 5th but may be back come evening time.

Johnny, why whenever David Batty gets the ball does the Leeds crowd boo? Or are they saying something else?

I know the answer to this one appaently they are shouting shoot and it's all very ironic, they do it even when he's in his own box.

If we play like we did last night I shall be cancelling any thoughts of my watching football on Sat 5th !! Supposed to be away at Stafford Rangers, bit of a long way for fuck all though.....

Is everyone still up for this?

4th Jan is THIS FRIDAY.

Need to sort a venue. The boozer that serves drinks named after JD tracks or Arthur Baker's bar have been suggested. Anywhere central-ish is good.

Should have recovered from tonight by then & renaged on a vow not to touch another drop etc.
