Album Cover

I have been really disapointed with Saville's last couple of efforts.  Get Ready was o.k I guess but Sirens is a joke.  Looks like he really didn't put any effort into it.  I could understand if it just had the "No" without the actual name of the band and the album, like they used to, but this is just rubbish in my book.

I don't like the cover either. I like the album artwork on one of the Sirens cds off amazon that shows the boat. I understand they pulled the original layout due to the tsunami which is a nice gesture. But, political correctness isn't what the Order is or should be about.

Well, when you think about it....how disappointed would you have  been if WFTSC cover looked like the movement cover?  I think Gillian described it so eloquantly as, "Blue...."

All of the covers for New Order's albums, have been minimalistic efforts. Lowlife with the longface of Stephen Morris, Power Corruption and Lies with a still-life of flowers, Substance with it's plain white background with black lettering, Best of with what I describe as a spilt dab of paint...

The best covers in my opinion came from Republic. I absolutely love the cover for their single, "World"...the mountains in the background with the city reflecting in the lake..that is awesome!!!

I'm all for minimalism - it's one of their trademarks.  However, based on what others have posted elsewhere (sorry, forget which thread), the overall visuals in the sleeve are closer to Republic.  So you may be wonderfully elated when you open the CD.

Not criticising it, but if you turn look at Saville's previous work for Wham, there is an uncanny resemblance to Sirens' if you turn it upside down :D
