I just picked up the latest copy of Sound On Sound and much to my surprise found the making of True Faith to be the classic track article.
The article tells how the track was made from the perspective of Stephen Hague. Interesting to see what he looked like then and what he looks like now. First time i've ever seen a picture of him actually and the first time I've really read anything on how New Order create music as a band. Plus, a terrific side bar about locking Barney in an apartment to get the lyrics written .
I guess what really struck me about the article was how each member of the band contributed to the making of the tracks. Made me think about how much the band miss Gillian as well. Seems these day the Id's(Barney and Hooky) are running the show. They really miss the gentle, introverted keyboards of the female member (Get Ready and WFTSC just don't sound right!) of the band. Or have we all forgotten?
Anyway, it's on the newstand so pick it up now!
