Jetstream on Radio 1

Scissors Sister's Ana is being interviewed and they are currently playing Jetstream, slightly different mix, apparently re-mixed last night.

She is talking about how humbled she was to meet them.

Barney confirmed this as the next single in an interview the other day,

It probably do well in the charts cause its catchy and has Ana on it !

Although it is certainly not among my top 3 favorite tracks from the album (nor is Krafty), that choice nevertheless makes a lot of sense from a marketing perspective, and it is after all quite good despite not being among my personal top 3.

I wonder what the fan of Anamatronic's band think of Jet Steam.

My pointed crypticism was merely a nit-picking exercise, for frivolities sake, towards your open admission that you had treat yourself to crafty dabbling of disco mayhem.

This is probably not the time, nor the place, but can you recall the specific word you utilised to describe Morrissey's singing style?

Ana's band is not very well-known in the U.S., H. I can't recall what exactly prompted me to buy their album, but it was not based on having heard their music.

Are you disparaging disco, H? I thought you liked the Weather Girls?

I'm afraid I do not at the moment recall what word I used to describe M's singing style, H. Do you?

Jetstream was played on Pete Tong on Radio 1 on the 18th March,did'nt say a release date..

I wonder if it will be the album version?

P - I don't remember the exact word, which is why I asked. It was something like, 'his masculine singing' (which coincidentally sounds like one of his masterful album titles).

Now if I didn't like disco, how could I enjoy track 9? I must have output the incorrect data.

Perhaps if I managed to locate those Smiths CD's I acquired at your prompting, H, and listened to parts of them, the word might magically reappear in my mind.

So you weren't disparaging disco, only Ana's band? Is disco what they do? Or is it just bad disco?

It would seem that the appeal of a 70's sounding disco outfit, who boast non-distinct gendres at the helm, is just too difficult to resist. It always charts, a bit like a good ballad. Aside from the Bee Jeeps, to me, it is the antithesis of my tastes in music.

I doubt you could mimic the exact phrase used as before - it stook in my mind. It was a real peach. Definitely not every day speak.

Well, H, I can't quite figure out what your attitude toward disco is, except that you apparently like the Bee Gees.

Perhaps I should give Ana's disco disc another listen and that might clarify things.

It was ambivalent, requiring some previous understanding of your posting strategy. One tiny morsel either side is sometimes the shift in balance from positive to negative.

'Humanistic' (to paraphrase) initially sounded detrimental, but on further pontification, and encapsulating the above thinking, somehow left me ... ambivalent. The indecisive aspect was that you most certainly didn't enjoy the Smiths disks, but the 'human' token rested as an eventual positive.

Well, it sounds like the only thing to do is look for those Smiths CD's and try to reconstruct my previous state of mind.

So it won't be a factor for the US!!

But I believe, Nic, that it is in fact a US-based band. One of those well-known cases of prophets without honor in their own land.

Yeah I read that somewhere they were from the US, and I was very surprised ;)

Still believe Turn My Way would have been a great US release... but I shall not live in the past :p

H and I are both in agreement with you, I believe, about the very high merits of TMW.

The only thing that bothers me about Turn from WFTSC is that the title is so similar.
