Its a trusty old formula which hasn't been wheeled out in a number of minutes, but is it time to ignite discussion of an all time best ever topping, taking into consideration the brand new pizza base?

With the capping of a 60minute cassette, 10 tracks are all that can be prized in. I wonder who'll side with PC&L?, will the singles triumph? - Did man ever land on the moon?

Here goes ... I'm going in ...

  1. Crystalline
  2. Cheese in a senseless Proportion
  3. Who goes by the name of Jane?
  4. Tempting Miss Daisy ('98 Retro incarnation)
  5. WFTSC
  6. Age of Contradiction
  7. Vanquishing Point
  8. Turn my Feet
  9. Loan me a Loaf 10 ... Track 10

I did that quickly, it was the only way to do it.

My first two responses, H, are how could you put #10 so low, and what in the world is #2?

Just wait there a cotton pickin' minute.

The running order is crucial to the 'mood' of the album, it does not signify a sequential quality rating!

I'm very keen to see how anybody could now formulate an album with their personal 'top 10' on.

Track 10 for Track 10 is my own personal choice to close the album, with My Loan a fine lead-in.

Track 2 is off WFTSC.

How could I have been so stupendous? - Leaving out Regression AND Procession!

The power of choosing only 10 songs, it is a formidable force of nature.

That's a damn fine T10.

  4. Dreams Never End
  5. Age of Consent
  6. Perfect Kiss
  7. Crystal

Sorry, H, I obviously did not understand the concept you were getting at. From that perspective, I wholehartedly agree that #10 should be #10. The question virtually answers itself. Most of our disagreements are really misunderstandings.

Agreed P.

Monster Mash ... I noticed you hadn't been outspoken about the Sirens. I'm disappointed that your not gaining as much from it. And I'm speaking from a Ceremony / Brotherhood BLT island.

What's your line of thinking? ...

Why don't you two just get it over with?

I can't bear the drawn-out melodramatics any longer. It's like watching Moonlighting in the eighties, waiting for Bruce to bring Cybill her cornflakes.

Mind you, the series went to the dogs soon after.

Done this with an eye [or an ear ?] on how I would like to hear it played LIVE.  Arse kickers to set things off, a few slowies to help us old lags get our breath back, and then a barn[ey]storming, sweat drenched, adrenalin induced, elbow pumping finale.

No WFTSC in my Top 10, and there are at least 15 other tracks in front of any of the new songs for me. I'm afraid, but that's how I feel.

Nope, no idea why the fonts have changed on me like that. Praps they wanted something off Technique.

Seems like Regret, Ceremony, Crystal, Temptation are in the lead so far, and Sunrise is rated very high, too.

The proof is emerging from the pudding, a great 50/50 divide forming; the Siren-free left, and the Siren-friendly right.

Is this is a case of pre-Technique hardcore, post-Technique softly softly?

In no particular order:

Angel Dust

True Faith

Bizzare Love Triangle

Chosen Time

Dream Attack

Sooner Than You Think

Face Up

Leave Me Alone

Temptation

Consensus seems to be Waiting For The Single Corr is a worthwile persuit but Andrea's no Adriana Lima.

If only Sir Jimmy Saville was still in operation Hanksville, you could write a letter asking if he could fix it for you to take Adrian's Lima out to Burger King.

not sure I appreciate being labelled 'right' Hunts, but I'll let you off. WFTSC the song kicks the arse off anything on Lowlife in my opinion. Why people love the songs off that album amaze me to be honest. I think it's dated more than any NO album.

My 11-20 would probably feature this lot -

Lonesome Tonight Leave Me Alone The Village Blue Monday EGG Don't Do It Denial Your Silent Face Subculture Face Up

I find it very hard to include something from recent years over stuff that's been with me every waking hour since 1983, or whatever (as in the PC&L stuff). I included Crystal in my top 10 cos it's had chance to sink in, and there's so many memories wrapped up in this one track from the 2001/2 gigs. I tend to vote on most songs on what it 'means' to me, rather than how 'good' the track is.

Its the bravado of simplying recording with scant regard of repercussion isn't it SB2? - Which echoes the 'hardcore' parallel.

'We're gonna' play what we want, sing out of tune and just about eat as many scones as we can lay our hands on'. ‘And what are you gonna’ do about it!’ (NO, 1985).

Sos about suggesting you were a 'righty' - I was trying to stir a bit of broth and it backfired.

Inclined to agree. None in my top ten. Then I never did any gigs til '93. Seems to feature more heavily for those who did.

I would normally be in the opinion of Monster above (i.e. living with the songs which mean something at a certain point in time) - but I just find some of the new material that good, its knocked the balance of power.

1 Temptation

2 Age Of Consent

3 As It Is When It Was

4 Ceremony

5 The Perfect Kiss

6 Sunrise

7 All of Technique

8 Regret

9 True Faith

10 Bizarre Love Triangle.

I am not happy with this already, I mean, no Procession, DNE, BM, YSF, LV, Subculture, Face Up, E/G/G, Special, Primitive Notion or Crystal. As much as I love the new album I didn't want to throw in any just yet.
