Sorry if you already talked about this, but I noticed only today, on the booklet of the NME Awards CD the production of  I Told You So is credited to New Order and Jim Spencer... it's the first time I hear it (just read New Order everywhere until now)... any info?

Who is he? Previous works?

That's James Spencer, sound engineer and Barney's studio "assistant" since the Electronic era...

Hello Jorge, nice to see you back. There's an interesting article on Sound On Sound about Merv De Peyer and Jim Spencer recording Electronic's "Vivid" here.

I never went anywhere really (just haven't had the time to post anything lately and with the amount of info we had in the last couple of months I wouldn't know where to start!), but it's nice to feel missed in here.

Followed the link and found the article interesting, as I assumed James Spencer was one of the slaves Barney uses nowadays to program his autocue!

So he was (is?) Johnny Marr's sound man at Clear...

Jim AKA 'Jimmy Biscuit' has been Johnny's engineer for some time. He's also done Charlatans, Marion etc, and is a thoroughly lovely man and a great talent. He can record a guitar like no other...And he's still a whippersnapper.
