Spike, quite frankly these days your posts have no purpose and they're about as funny as an orphanage on fire. They simply take up space. Nobody, including me is remotely denying you your chance to have a chat about the band or their records, but your posts are the purest form of bollocks and waste space on the board these days.

I truly have absolutely nothing against Spike, but his posts usually do consist of badly spelled irrelevance and they usually become massively popular for no apparent reason. Fair dos if he hit the wrong button but I'd rather chat about the bands and their records y'know than hilairious "one word" wibbles. Also, I'm well aware of the irony of me replying contributing to the thread's overall popularity.
Oh, and "derp" for good measure

Guinness is pure endless black evil. Aye, I can understand if Spike hit the wrong button, I understandably mistook this for an actual thread a'la his "derp" ones which really are pointless. His posts can be completely irrelevant at times. I'm not being nasty, it's true! I'm sure he'd agree; see his "gay" one in Behind Closed Doors (where it should remain IMO) Urm, I'll add some New Order content to the thread: Which period did Barney burn away his stomach lining thanks to Pernod/excessive drugs? I actually don't know but I'm guessing Technique '89.

'89 - '91 sounds like the best possibility. With the 'chug' stories about the '89 U.S. tour (and just listening to him on the lives from the tour) along with the American food, it's most likely that Bernard reached saturation point around the last legs of the Technique tour. Just in time to ralph all over Marr.

I think it was in Chicago at about the time of Technique '89. He said that he and his partner, Sarah were about to head out clubbing and he suddenly felt very ill and didn't want to go out, which he said wasn't like him at all. I think he said the hospital he ended up in was right across the road from the hotel that the band were staying in. He also noted that the whole band could drink excessively but the next morning it would only be him throwing up "excessively". I'll try to remember the article I read it in.
What a hero glad Barney did it so we don't have to.

Heh, interesting. I do wonder where Gillian was in all of this though to be honest. Three lads that boozed it up (and drugged it up) very often during touring. But what about Gillian? Do you think she joined in with the fun or do you think she was the mother of em all, telling them to calm down etc. It makes me wonder a lot actually where she stands in all of the drunken nights from the 80's, but I just don't know if she joined in or took a step away from them all. Makes you wonder how she put up with them...
And you have to wonder if Gillian ever accidentally(?) hooked up with
any other the other guys besides Steve.... Come on, lots of
substance abuse, horny guys in close proximity with her for years at a
time...you'd think there might be a bit of lipsmacking once or twice
(before Steve got the tanks, at least). Don't tell me I'm not the only
one to wonder about this!
