:dead: ;) :D :( :) i think you'd find as many people would post here if this board was less about posting shite and more about actual discussion,   as are here posting now. i post on another board where as many as 15 people have "lurked" here without posting because of the extreme amounts of nonsense. do you really think having emoticons on a message board makes that message board more desirable or a better board? my answer to that question would be No! What makes a board good are the quality of posts and the knowledge of the members, not their attempts at humor or their constant usage/over usage of emoticons. i will acknowledge that when trying to make a sarcastic comment or joke to someone who may not speak the same language, emoticons can help with understanding the comment. Single posts containing nothing but an emoticon response to another post, however, are completely pointless and a waste of space. :dead: :\ohwell:

Step 1: Remove "Nothing"

Step 2: Insert "Bitching"

I admit a few years ago i only used the forum on the other site as the times i had a peek at this one there was too much emoticons all over the place.but then i got bored of  serious talk and decided to come on here.and i like a bit of seriousness and a bit if sillyness.you have to have a balance ;) :D :(

what would help a lot is if the off topic threads were kept to the off topic board...

Well the only other half decent forum I can think about is WIM, and even that doesn't compare to NOOL. Don't want to cause friction between the two boards, but the truth is the truth.
