Nick, a few of us have had this for a good few months.....
It's ok, it starts off storylike which was good, but then gets weighed down with sessionography / discography overkill. Let's face it most of us can get that kind of information from here and World In Motion and several other Factory sites.
I suppose it's good having it all in one book, but with the new album coming out, that's gonnae fuck that! Fair play to the guy for doing it, but if you buy it, you may notice several factual errors. I found at least five in the "original" copy. The best one being there were only 3 colours for the EGG/Procession single......Rocket Mick has 6 FAKES then;)

I remember the discog being culled from a whole load of sources, and being in a silly format, which is why I probably didn't buy it in the first place!

Yep ( both versions as well NO & Heaven 17)
The author, music journalist Dave Thompson, has been fairly prodigous over the last couple of years. He released 'An Armchair Guide To The Fall' last year and if you browse through this you will see that he's used that exact same format as a template for the NO book.
He's made little attempt to hide it too, many of the sentences are identical except for some key words being changed. Kinda takes the gloss off things when you see its so blatantly formulaic.
Then I was browsing around a book shop in the West End on Saturday with Ness, and we spotted a retrospective on The Specials, also by Dave Thompson, released in 2004. Busy bee !
