How much are they worth?

I know it's not about the money but since not too much is known about this, what would you estimate Barney's, Hooky's and Steve and Gillian's personal wealth to be? Hooky's always moaning about not having a pot to piss in and we all know about Factory but still they must have made a fair few quid by now...

My uneducated guesses would be:

Barney: pushing £1 million

Hooky: £600,000

Steve and Gillian: £500,000

These might seem low but I'm factoring in the Factory, the Hac, Dry etc.!

I would imagine you are way under with these figures. Probably as much as 5x under. Not that it is any of our business!!

Er, why is it none of our business? As fans we're stakeholders in the band and it's a legitimate enquiry. Don't be so precious!

Quite  frankly I don't see how this is any of our business.  I just don't get people who think that the band have to justify anything to us.  Do you want to subject them to a full accounting.  Just how are you a stakeholder.  Are you a former Factory shareholder?

Enjoy the music, or don't.  Take it or leave it.  No need to invade their privacy.

Nothing wrong with a bit of speculation about the size of the lads' respective wedges. And as it happens yes, I think the Barnster, Hooky, Steve and Phil have a moral obligation to make their accounts available to all NOOL forum members on an annual basis - if I'm buying singles and albums and concert tickets I want to ensure that they're not frittering it away on bags of charlie and pernod etc. Afterall, as a stakeholder, it's my right.

Nah, I don't think it's any of our business either. They produce the music, we buy it but that doesn't give us the right to peek into their private affairs. They owe us nowt.

They earned it they can fritter it away on what they like. All in all I was quite happy with the Pernod and Coke days.

Should imagine Steve and Gillian are worth more than the other two.

After all, they've basically owned HALF of all New Order products, which will be worth more than Hooky's quarter (and his offshoots) and Barney's quarter plus Electronic.

Also, I doubt the Morrises shoved quite as much up their noses! ;o)

Anyways, 500k sounds like a rather naive figure for the Morrises - surely the average late forty something in this country is worth that in property prices alone ... especially if you live in a farmhouse in Derbyshire with acres of land and a studio attached!

of course its our buisness to know, without FANS there would be no NEW ORDER.

they owe to us, not to shy us away as strangers trying to peek into their private life, such as income... ahaha that income is our  money

so dont be so anal, this is a fan site. and a fan site wants to know as much as they can to be more of a fan. make sense?[^o)]

All you brown-nosers out there...who are you trying to impress??? Personally, I think it is kind of interesting to know whether or not these guys are worth millions or not...Do you think the band is reading these messages and are thinking...."Wow, that lad just stood up for me and told that wanker that my finances were nobody's business ......we better wire a hundred tickets to their address immediately and find out who they are!  They must be saints!!!"

Please...get real people...

Please of please New Order do send me all the concerts tickets you like.

I suppose you guys want their adresses as well.  Ok I'm happy to oblige.  Try somewhere in the north of England.  You know that big island just off europe.

I know for a fact that they all just get their weekly allowance of £60 which Rob started for them years back. That can buy a few pints and some nice ciggys you know !! - it is not about the money - just the music , packaging , TW's jag and having some nice trainers. God love em !!

How much are they worth?

Maybe it's just me, but who gives a fuck? Having had the album for quite some time, as long as the old buggers continue to release music as good as this then I'm happy. Couldn't give a toss whether they're multi millionaires or not.

I am sure they are comfortably well off, but anyway its about their music not the size of their bank accounts! tututut...

Hahahahah, I can't tell whether you're joking or simply full of shit here.  I agree with the first part of your post, a bit of speculation does no harm... But the remainder of your post is liquid manure, quite literally.  Making their accounts available to us?  No, you must be joking it's the only explanation!  The band aren't a fucking Limited company mate, they're a band that make music.  Simply because you have fished Brotherhood out of the bargain bin or paid for a live ticket doesn't make you a stakeholder in fucking anything!  Stakeholder would imply you have some control, which you do not.

I do detect a whiff of bullshit so if you're purposely winding people up, nice one.  Worked a treat this time lol.  But if you're not.... bloody hell.

Revised estimates:

Barney: £6 million

Hooky: £5 million

Steve & Gillian: £5 million

Why do you assume that Barney and Hooky are worth more, or the equivalent of, Steve & Gillian PUT TOGETHER?

Steve & Gillian own HALF of New Order, which is worth considerably more than Barney's half of Electronic, and more than Hooky's 98% share in Monaco/Revenge.

Dunno how you reached them figures Loretta ;-) , but do you seriously think Hooky and Barney would be doing the DJ Sets if they had £5 million in the bank? Gies Peace.

Alright, well to take Barney, a property in Nether Alderley is going to be pushing £1million + the contents and cars etc. then you take into account earnings from releases, concerts and the back catalogue so I'd put it in the region of £3-6 million. I'm not sure that the ownership of New Order is exactly equal: Barney is far more influential than say Gillian was so I can't see him being happy at getting the same whatever the official line is. I'm speculating here, but if others know better then let's see some numbers from you...

I'd have thought every New Order release from Movement to Get Ready, as far as the band was concerned, was split 4 ways between them.

Do you honestly believe Barney garnered, say, 38%, Hooky 32%, Steve 21%, Gill 9%?

Of course you don't.

The first release Gillian won't make any monies out of will be WFTSC.

It's a bit like rubber necking at a RTA wanting to know how much NO are worth, you know you shouldn't but just can't help yourself.

I agree that they are probably an equal four way split, but remember they also had Rob Gretton taking a share, teh most expensive artwork and most of their careers controlled by Tony Wilson.  That's enough to bankrupt them.

I think BS and Hooky do the DJing cos they love performing not cos they need the money, you'll be suggesting next that Steve needs to sell free range eggs on his farm to keep the family fed.
