.........and he says he won't be back! Please help me to persuade him to bring his mischief back to your forum. I've been a member here for a couple of months and usually check out the forum from work, just to see what Muffy's up to, and some of you guy's really make me laugh and I know you make Muffy laugh too. I thought about being 'Henry's Cat' but i've changed my mind in an attempt to woo Muffy back on, please help.
Muffy's gone, for good.......................

I was going to say something somewhat similar. Without knowing the reasons, it's hard to make arguments against the decision. If it's a question of the amount of time spent here, it is at least theoretically possible to limit that. If somebody here has done something to offend him, well I'm sure we would all be prepared to turn on whoever it is and tear him or her apart, limb by limb.
So any guidance, Ms. Minx?
Muffy has this ability where he knows things without really knowing how or why he knows them. He calls it his 'curse'. I've seen it in action and it's very very creepy sometimes. He gets lots of bad dreams where 'visitors' tell him stuff he usually does'nt want to know and he sees things about people that make him ill for days sometimes. He says that he feels some people here consider him in a negative way and he gets enough of that where he works without feeling it when he switches the forum on too. He works in a big office with over 100 of a staff where he is considered arrogant and aloof but thats because he says he tries to keep them at arms length because he does'nt want to know stuff about them, but he does anyway. His closest friends know how kind, considerate, helpfull, warm hearted, witty, intelligent, and generous he is, and they love him dearly. Muffy come back and don't be silly!
well if there are folk here who have negative feelings towards muffy, im very sure that theyre quite considerably outnumbered by those who are very fond of the old muffster. don`t get paranoid muffy, please return to us.
What is going on? It feels as if all the forefathers of this sire have become extremely disillusioned with it- Martin, Seb, Muffy, Huntsman (I know I'm missing others). You guys made this site what it is. I started posting because it seemed there were a lot of cool people talking about lots of different things but all connected by a love of New Order. Next Patrick and Shug will leave, and Mario and Pitch and Jeff and etc. etc... Stop the Madness!!! This is your site, keep that way!

Muffster...you can't leave me here...all alone...defenseless against the Liv meister...she'll swallow me up whole and spit out my bones!!!
Besides which, brother man, I need you to stay on here so I have a tour guide and pub pal when I finally bring my sorry ass back to Scotland...
I really wish our friends would stop leaving us one by one....
except for you Jerry...you can stay away...
Since reading your last post, Ms. Minx, I've been trying to think what might have prompted the feeling you've described, and so far I haven't been able to think of anything. I know that sometimes when people post messages, the way they are worded can unintentionally give mistaken impressions about what was meant. Actually one of the things that fascinates me in both life and literature is how easy it is to misinterpret other people's words and actions. But as I said, I cannot think of anything I've read here that would cause me to think that anyone has negative feelings about Muffy.
It truly saddens me to think that ScruffBall McMuffBox may be quiting the team. It's like when the best person from a group of friends is missing and when your all laughing and joking there's something 'big' missing.
I e-mail'd the little tadpole last night to try and get the lowdown but he hasn't replied (well, he hadn't up until late last night).
Can I just say that I did mention that I would be occupied at work as it got closer to Christmas so my post to crisp to egg to forum ratio would be on a low-down easy jack. After Christmas I'll be like a bat out of hades and I've so many topics its unfair on other customers.
That said, the prospect of posting without the wit, wisdom and sheer fettleness of Scrumpy Jackson is disturbing ... personally I thought I'd found a kindred spirit in MonkeyBall Fettle Stick and I'm upset that he may never return. He's a cool egg Muffy and I think he hasn't been back on because it would make him look a bit 'I'm off!', 'but not just yet' ... 'oh on I'm off again'.
But ... I think we all deserve an explination, especially if it involves ghosts or battered shrimp.

Do you think he might have been offended, Huntsy, when I raised the idea he might be behind the Jerry hoax?

Patrick, you are too sensitive. I'm sure that its got nothing to do with you. We are always lovely to the Muffster.... he'll see sense im sure...

i think i'm fucking tired of everyone who reaches 1000posts to claim they aren't going to post anymore. it's spreading like wildfire. besides listing our favorite neworder album/song etc...keeping someone happy enough to post occupies most of our time. i think it's the same when you meet a girl/bird for the first time. everything is going great without a care in the world and then, your brain kicks in and you freak out. holy shit, what if she know's too much about me...she'll only hurt me if we keep seeing each other like this etc... i get called every name in the book on a daily basis (mainly because i speak my mind) and you folks here have never offended me. it's an anonymous forum (more or less) where we get to air our opinions to like minded peeps. use the force wisely and you shall not be hurt. who gives a fuck. post or don't post, there is no try. seb, hunts, muff, shug...don't pull away because we're all getting too close. neworder fan profile now reads: loves football and lager, a bit fragile, 30ish.

I hope you're right, Liv.
I did note that Muffy was being very defensive (and justifiably too) on a thread posted by Morris Fan (The one about JoyDivision) where MF tried to analyse the reasons for my feelings of disillusionment that I uttered at great length on my own thread that week, and he, Muffy, took offence at being criticised in a certain way that whether or not it was unintentional on MF's part isn't made 100 per cent clear. Me? I just got caught in the ensuing cross fire (which I recall also involved Shug), as it were, and felt rather nonplussed to say the least.
I might be completely wrong on this. There may well be another reason, but that's my speculation anyway.
Muffy contacted me to offer support when I was feeling low that week, so I have to say that the guy is a most valuable asset to this board and any attempt to sideline or even under-rate him has to be met with the disdain it deserves. Hope he's reading this and realises that some people rate him highly here.....
Dunno why this one came up without warning but just filled it in so it wouldn't appear blank cuz I HATE BLANK POSTS!!!! GRRR!!!
If it's me big jammy bastard, don't fret, I know I hinted about hacking, when I read to much into something and nothing a while back, and am aware I brought up the subject of your insightfulness again(around the time you stopped posting),if you really are cursed to see inside me, you'll know, I'm not against you.

I've reread that thread, Martin, and I see what you're referring to. Whoever Morris Fan may be, I would say he is not someone that I would consider necessarily representative of the rest of us, at least in the post that might possibly have given offense. I thought that Muffy's post where he first reached out to you frankly put the rest of us (excluding you, Martin, obviously) to shame. It would be a very great loss if we were not to have the benefit of his thoughts and feelings in the future.
I think it's just plain normal that most of us who are working have been busier than ever lately because of the upcoming holidays.
But that's not a reason to quit this place forever!!!
What's the deal with some of the ROOTS of this forum lately (especially thinking of Muffy and Seb Briggs)??? We're turning our back for a second and they take a run? ![]()
It has to be a christmas thing... I'm sure everything will fall back in place pretty soon.
Happy holidays everybody! ![]()
Seb.
Hey guys, just reading this as I've had aquick chance to have a look this morning. As I said in my post I'm not pissing off for good - but I've decided for the sake of my job I can't post from work anymore - which is where 99% of my posting was done. And Geuax, sorry ifI sounded like a prima donna but it wasnt meant to sound like that. The truth is my job is obviously more important.
As regards the Muffster - I may be wrong but I don't thnk its the fault of any one particular poster. I just think occasionally there are a number of posters who seem to encourage a bit of bad feeling. the board isn't as 'chummy' as maybe it used to be
Muffy...please come back...I feel guilty listening to your fabulous production while you are in such a mood...I miss you...Liv misses you...hell, we all miss you!!!!
Amen Jeffy, again putting in words what we all feel (except for Morris Fan, but I've said enough in regards to him
)
Nuffy, Marty, Hunter, Seb, Jarvo, Liv, VG, Patty, Texan namechanger et al, you boys (and girls !) are the key reason for me to log on (oh-er misses) to this site on a daily basis, not only is there sparking wit and repartee but also hearts of gold (Muffy, once more thx for the cd's) and at times its the only thing that gets me thru a shitty day at work. I have laughed out load when reading threads more times than i've had hot dinners.
Please no one threaten/talk about/comptemplate leaving this forum as it would be a poorer place without (Jees, i'm nearly weeping here, must have something in my eye)
