rumors of a technique sound seem exagerated, so my thery is that the 7 tracks that are left must be much more dance orientated ad that the next album will be more in that vien. btw anyone any views on the rumoured title "Is that really a flute"

have to agree that i don't hear the similarities to Technique that were offered during the inital reviews of WFTSC
The top songs on WTFSC (which are, IMHO, Hey Joe, Road to Ruin, WFTSC, Krafty, Dracula, Turn in no particular order) could have formed the basis for a nice album, but probably not at Technique's level. However, many of the other tracks just drag the whole thing down - the result is that its not a very good album even though some of the songs are gems.
Personally, I can't pre-judge, but I don't hold out much hope that I'll think the next album is great, and perhaps not even good. Chances are the other 7 tracks, being recorded and written during the WFTSC sessions, are in the same vein and of similar quality to the WFTSC tracks, and are likely to be as inspired (or uninspired, depending on one's viewpoint). In the end I don't think there's any reason to think that the follow up to WFTSC will be any more or less great (or Technique-like) than WFTSC. Sort of depressing. I truely hope that I'm wrong.
listen, i can hear you weeping, but how can you prejudge an album that hasn't got a title & we don't even know how many tracksit has, let alone what any of them sound like?
don't know how long you've had it but live with wftsc for a bit & then re-appraise - it is a real grower.
WFTSC is top notch and will be on my car cd for the next month non stop no doubt but "is that really a flute" may be even better!

One of the tracks has a working title of 'Do Me One' - the lads are regressing with no girl in the band to keep them in check:D
The next album with be titled "Fraternity," an obvious nod to its similar sound to "Brotherhood," and will feature cover art under Barney's direction: the four guys chasing scantily-clad co-eds from their drunken party, a la "Animal House."
Does anyone know if the flute or an variation was used in the making of wftsc, if not then maybe all the songs with more woodwind based instrument are the basis of "is it really a flute"
