Gentle folk of the woodland area, I have just listened to a 'Jet Steam' re-mix. It was played on a popular radio station here in the United Island.

I'd describe it as a heavy pop/dance version'ette of the album original. So more an application of icing as opposed to an entirely different set of scones.

It was pretty good - no, really.

And I did my bit for the team by listening out for the particular mix:

Richard X.

Whether that means he was called Richard, or that he doesn't have a second name perhaps will be revealed on the actual disk when it arrives on the shelves.

Was the song introduced or just played, H?

I'm not sure what you refer to but it was played and then the diskette operator announced the title.

It ran as smooth as butter.

Does that radio have recorded streams?

The operator is Peter Tongsford, he said that there would be a track listing up and running two shakes of a lambs tail. His show is quite popular here in Blighty so I would have thought the music would be down stream almost immediately.

BBC Radio 1.

He's on now. Mixing the tunes like a wild potato.

I mean, did the announcer say something along the lines of "For all you aging New Order fans out there who have nothing better to do with your time than spend all day typing posts on New Order fan sites, here's a tasty morsel"?

Sorry P, but he didn't mention you specifically.

He did mention something about chiseled jawed handsome animal lovers but I really wasn't paying that much attention.

Steady on with the aging bit, P.

Can't wait to hear it, top work H. The show should be streaming on the BBC site by what - tomorrow?

Marske-by-Sea: More than halibut and pet rocks.

If you had in fact been paying attention when he said that, H, would you have been inclined to suspect he was referring to anyone you know?

So the stream will be up in 1 or 2h on Radio 1's website.

Thanks for the hint H! :thumb:

Well, we're all aging, aren't we, DC? Better than the alternative, anyway.

Well it has to be said I've been a fan of Jacques Le Cont's (Stuart Price) material in the past, but Richard X has transformed an average New Order single in to a club classic destined to go higher than Krafty.

Richard X has given it the electro funked up edge Mr Price should have given it in the first place. Certainly the faster pace will score big in the clubs! I'd prefer this mix on the album.

What the heck.

New Order - Jetstream (Richard X Remix) From Radio 1

Sorry for the glitch, but it's a broadcast after all, not to keep.

I must say this is one of the best dance remixes ever done for New Order, and it has the bass!

I totally agree with the above. This song kicks ass. :bow2: Can't wait to get hold of this remix as well as the others for Jetstream. :thumb: Would like to see this song as the bonus track on the US release.

Solid Mix. How does it compare to the single remix? Not heard that one yet.

The single mix is just an update of the album version....

Just listened to it. Sounded pretty good. Unfortunately I couldn't get the volume to a satisfactory level. Hitting the increase volume button seemed to have no effect.

Well, that was much better. Thanks, Nic.

Do we know for sure that they plan to release it at that length as the actual single? It seems extremely long for a single version.

H is obviously not on the premises at the moment, but I will pose this question nevertheless: is that a typo in the thread title, H, or was it intentional? On points like this, it's sometimes hard to tell.

Somebody forgot to hand Pete Tong a cup of stfu, nice touch yakking all over the beginning...

And end as well...

Yes, a lot more meaty, but ultimately pretty true to the original: but better. I think I'd just release this version, if as it appears, this is going to be the single.

jetstream is my least favorite song on WFTSC... but this remix is hot! too bad this isn't the version on the record.
