After the WILDLY varied opinions of WFTSC, finally bought it from napster (yes, I’ll buy the CD too)
My theory on new music is if it grabs me right at the start, I’ll gobble it up and toss it aside quickly, i.e. killers hot fuss. On the other hand, if the initial reaction is likeable but lukewarm, that’s what’ll end up in rotation.
The decided method to getting into WFTSC was to put it on the mp3 player, interspersed with other artist btwn tracks in order to “cleanse the palate” between tracks and hear each track independent of its neighbor. Nearly spit up my coffee this morning when “I told you so” started – what the? Bwew bwew! 80’s laser sound effect – but it got better. Still like KRAFTY lots (also was lukewarm when heard it on NOOL). Not liking the heartbeart deal on guilt is a useless emo, but it got better, too; and will be great for working out. Very beatle-esque start on working overtime which morphs into a 2004 indie-rock band tune with a big nod to the beatles, which falls to the back towards the end of the song – like it. Like TURN lots, has an old NO vibe to it. Still listening to the other tracks – but overall reaction is on the likeable side of lukewarmish – so it’ll stay top of the pile.
