Monica dear, we have discussed those lines before and it's definitely "cause you were not the wrong one" ;)

I'm not happy with the first to lines of this. Has anyone offered corrections?

I believe I did, Monica. Missing "wrong."

I got it on 'cause you were not the one And I don't know where to turn When you're gone

How many times must I lose my way Hey how many words do I have to say Hey What can I do just to make you see

That you're so good for a man like A man like me

I really like that bit!

Plus "AND I don't know."

Well, Monica, thank you for those kind words. You are most generous, as always. I believe you would agree that this is important. One wants to get it right.

I only wish I could be more assistance. I am busy in the office today, and by appearing now and again I am only going to confuse matters. Already, I have tried to correct something that has already been sorted out, which is a waste of everyone’s time.

Perhaps I could come to assist if there is a lyric on which you can't agree. A third official role, if you like.

Being a lady, I will bring fairness and impartiality to the debate before agreeing with sister Babe!

Will have to reconsider all the lyrics again and post them later from the Serbian point of view ;)

There were in fact several issues that Maya and I left unreolved.

Hope to see you again when things calm down for you, Monica.

It has just occured to me, P! Could it be that in HNWYD he sings "you've gotta LIVE that heavy ROLE"? Because with CONTROL at the end of the next line, it makes a beautiful rhyme. ;)

That's another point I'll need to think about, M.:)

I've been sitting here all day with my headphones on but still no "LOAD" that I can hear :(

surely it's more interesting seeing everyone here brainstorming to get the lyrics right...

i've got the japanese version so as usual, they have an extra booklet with all the lyrics and translation.
i can post them up here later.
After all it's more fun figure them out by ourselves. :)

As I've mentioned before, women rule! Chant, really looking forward to it! :)

On WFTSC

I'e just been listening to the Canal+ recording (thanks Thomas & Nick) & Barney definitly sings

'I got it all wrong but you are not the wrong one" & the backing track 'sings' "'cause you are not the wrong one"

Nic, obvious question: Are those chaps at Warners so lazy they don't even pass you some official lyrics sheets? Look, I understand as Rob Corless still hasn't passed his for Gabrielles Wish but you'd expect Warners to be a bit more professional... :nonono:

Hey Chant, I know it's fun figuring and everything, but we can always keep this thread going for people who don't want to read the official lyrics and meanwhile the rest of the world would read the correct ones... it would be fun if you wrote the Japanese translation too, or better, the translation back from Japanese to English. I remember the NME making such a thing years ago with a Public Enemy track, it was hilarious!

If i aint the job then it aint the place But I must stay for your pretty face It's a bad reaction I cant fix You conned me with those feline tricks

(listen to how Barney sings (badly) "caught" on guilt). totally different.

I will make that comparison.

That reminds me, I need to print all these pages.

I want the Japanese version! Would you swap for a European one?

ok -to move to another song ; I told you so; a song which I quite like by the way, what I hear (with my dutch ears) is:

Cut loose and run away with me (....) and we all get high down the overside ? (Don't know if that's a correct english word)or is it other side pronounced a little bit different by B.

If it ain't the job and it ain't the place.. well, I must stay for your pretty face it's a bad reaction i can't fixx you caught me with those felined (??)/3 lined(??)tricks.

MN&Day: the sun shone through my windowpane

not sure about that line about eating the floor and a pile of dust. Or it must be one of these weird english expressions again(?).

oops, I see Patrick already corrected the lyrics "if it ain't the job and (then) it ain't the place... etc "You conned me with those felined tricks" sounds ok to me too..

hi maya and mike,

alright then i guess i'll post one song per day, i hope that would be ok. :D but mike, too bad i don't understand japanese!! i always want to learn though.
well but i've got some japanese friends ( even one of them is a new order fan! he's registered but i guess he doesn't visit here often) so i'll ask them if they can do the translation of japanese krafty version.

cheers, chant

Hello chant; thanks for being interested and taking the time and trouble to share with us the lyrics from the Japanese release of WFTSC. I don't know that I'm necessarily prepared to accept those lyrics as the definitive answer on all questions, but they could certainly be helpful on points where we are having disagreements.:)

I thought we agreed that I would have the last word where there were disagreements?

Anyone know where I can get hold of a Japanese version.

Does it have Klafty on it?

You will, Big, you will, after you have taken into account all relevant factors, including, but not limited to, the Japanese lyrics. (I need to live up to DC's expectations of me concerning legal jargon.)
