Caught part of Pete Tongs show last night, and he played Jetstream again as part of the Buzz Chart. Now when I was listening to it I assumed it was the Richard X mix again, but he announced it as The Thin White Duke Mix (another psuedonym of Stewart Price who produced the album version).

All the Thin White Duke mixes I've heard recently have been brilliant, check out Fischerspooner's "Just Let Go" and the Gwen Stefani mix... But having looked for promos of Jetstream on eBay and seeing the tracklist I dont actually know what I heard anymore...

You can listen again on the radio one page, but I'm not doing that on a dial up modem, otherwise I'd check.. sounded pretty darn good though.

Or you just click the following link:

I believe Mr Biznotic will be happy to see that Jacques Lu Cont actually remixed the track too..

BTW, this is the 4th week in a row that Pete Tong is playing Jetstream, and it's now #6 on the "Buzzchart"...

So who said Jetstream wouldn't do anything?

6 NEW ORDER 'Jetstream' (London) Featuring the vocal talents of Ana Matronic and a wealth of mixes from the likes of Jacques Lu Cont, Richard X, Arthur Baker and Tom Neville.

Tracks that were on the recent promo CDR that was on ebay:

  1. RICHARD X REMIX
  2. ARTHUR BAKER REMIX
  3. TOM NEVILLE REMIX
  4. TOM NEVILLE DUB
  5. RADIO EDIT
  6. RICHARD X RADIO MIX
  7. ALBUM VERSION

So, that's 7 mixes, plus the Jacques Lu Cont ones...

Wonder how many of them will make the final release?

Richard X Radio Mix?

Possibly the best news I got all day!

Couldn't agree more! I'm sure over here Radio1 will choose this ahead of the original's radio edit for a possible playlist candidate. Certainly more of a chance than Krafty had anyway.

Don't think many did. Quite a lot think it's embarrassingly bad but that's mainly the album version. Also, 99% of what Pete Tong plays never gets anywhere near the UK top 40, so it's a bit early to presume it'll do well based on the reaction to remixes. If it's going to sell well as a single, it'll need support for the main mix off daytime radio.

Yowsa. The Thin White Duke mix is as good as the Richard X!

Funny (and refreshing!) how the more recent NO mixes keep Peter Hook's bassline as an element. Squeaky wheel gets the grease, I s'pose. ;)

One question - is Stuart Price Jacques Lu Cont? I thought they were two different people...

(oh, and "Ana Mantronic - heh!)

Love this mix, however I think I still prefer the Richard X version over this one at this point. Glad to see they have a Richard X single version made. They must use the Richard X single edit, it is light years better then the original single version.

Interesting. Look forward to giving this one a run on CD through the Jamo speakers and sub. Sounds like some bigger bottom end stuff going on.

He has asked me to tell you he doesn't do 'recreational' housecalls

If you could just retrieve them for him, we could get this thread back ON TOPIC.

While the Richard X mix sounds more like the song's taken a big hit of poppers, the TWD mix certainly sounds more appropriate as a soundtrack for anal sex.

Does that get things back on track?

yeah it's decent. Not quite sure why Jacques didn't put a bit more of the 'oomph' this mix has in the original - would have improved it. Think I might be seein him DJ in a few weeks, so hopefully he'll bring this one out

To the winner of the auction, but it seems the same bloke had quite a few in stock, so I got mine for considerably less than that! :evil4:

In fact, it just arrived this morning, and listening to it now as we speak! :thumb:

Pete Tong played the Jacques Lu Cont version again this week and it's up to number 2 on the Buzz Chart. I'm sure it will be at number one next week. I wonder if its getting heavy play at the dance clubs yet.

Great remix, sounds really inventive :thumb: Maybe the Richard X is more palatable to the general audience though

Eddy Temple Morris ("The Remix," XFM, Sunday evenings) played the Richard X remix second on his show last week.

'Course, its a show devoted to remixes and mashups.
