Rip It Up And Start Again

..is the title of a new book, by Simon Reynolds, on Post Punk 1978-1984. It's a 500+ page tome with both UK and US versions. Sourced from Reynolds' blog, the book is being promoted with the following event which may be of interest to the London Order....

And on another note vaguely linked given Paul Morley's presence at said event: if you watch Carol Morley's "The Alcohol Years" DVD with the commentary on, you get a fascinating little anecodte wich reveals that "Bizarre Love Triangle" was *possibly* written about Carol and her mate being cajoled into virtual prostitution by New Order and their entourage. Apparently, the two girls approached some lorry driver (after being "dared" by the Order crowd) and propositioned him: they then "stimulated" each other while said truckie "stimulated " himself, hence "Bizarre Love Triangle".

Strange, and quite possible untrue.

I've had said DVD sitting in me front room, still in its shrink wrap, for a good few weeks. Thought it was gonna stay like that for a while but its goona get an airing now.

Didn't take long for the first of the LO to get their excuses out ;)
