Hehe.

It seems like Christmas time is a good time for NewOrderShopping.. I managed to win a few auctions on EBay that I don't think I could have at any other time...

A Salvation CD for 5$ and a Run2 12" Single for 12$, I don't think this kind of bargain happens very often in a lifetime!

I sold my own 12" of Run2 2 or 3 years ago for 50$.. gee, that's a good trade :D

So happy hunting during the holydays :D

Your message title makes me think of the 1984 Bob Geldof-produced Xmas song. Wonder if NO were approached to do that? Can't imgaine why they'd turn down the chance to perform with Duran Duran, Bono, Bananarama, and Paul Young?

Of course that was the purpose of the title, to remind people of the Band-Aid song :D

I don't think NO were there.. but still, Blue Monday was very very huge then..

As far as I know, the band weren't approached for the song or Live Aid.

And at the time of Live Aid - New Order were in Oz I think;)

Don't think they were in Oz, but they weren't round here. They didn't do Oz between late 82 and mid 85 unless my ageing brain has had a real lapse....always on the cards !

Live Aid was 13-7-85? I think - I've got a tape from 18-5-85 at Sydney Selina's Hotel - where they play on IC's anniversary - Barney says "This is for you know who.....Elvis"

I thought Live Aid was 84 ? Too many burgers in the past.....my brain's gone addled ! New Order played the Hacienda 16/7/85 and WOMAD 20/7/85, where they were blown off stage by a magnificent set from The Fall !!

Yeah - I know that Tim:nonono: What I meant was I was thinking it was 18-7-85 which would have been the same time as Live Aid - complete mind malfunction mate - I do apologise:skeptic:

Classic quote on the Selinas show......"this one's for a friend of ours who couldn't be with us today because he's dead....I think you all know who I mean.....Mr Elvis Presley !" (They then played We All Stand :))

No actually I'm enjoying listening to them all again. They live 150 miles from me at my parents' house, and on the odd occasion I go to see them I never usually get round to playing them. Coming home for a few days gives me a chance to dig them out and have a nostalge ! I'll take as many as I can back to London with me, which should make for eaier copying in the future. I'll buy meself a CD Writer so I can turn them into CDs - should be better than old tapes anyway.
