Long NOOL Threads

If a thread gets longer than a couple of pages and I havent been reading it from when it was started I often cant be bothered to trawl through pages of replies to catch up.

I havent got time to read 9 pages of 1 line quoted replies and tend to read the last couple of replies on the last page often thinking.. what the fcuk is this all about!?! Often the topic may well have started off quite interesting but degenerated into rubbish

Am I just lazy or does anyone else find themselves doing the same.

Depends on the thread. If it's pages and pages of analysis of whether Barney said "Whoo" or "Hoot," I can't be arsed to read it all.

On the other hand, if it's pages and pages of collective insanity (the other kind, not the obsessive-compulsive kind referred to above), I can be arsed.

I would also agree - depends on the thread, especially how interesting the posts are. When you read through 5 pages but are rewarded with an absolutely hilarious comment or picture, it's worth it. When you read through 5 pages and think "I'd rather watch drying paint than reading what I just read" you lose the desire to read multiple pages.

I think some stated concerns about off-topic posts in threads is due to people not having the time, inclination, or desire to read through multiple pages of posts before replying. Which I don't have much of a problem with.
