Isn`t there another thread at the moment dealing with NOOL v WIM?.

Anyways back to the video.I got impatient to see it and ended up paying 75p to select it by phone on The Box music channel.Only had to wait about 10 minutes before it came on and i taped it.Quite good.Liked the colourful backdrop visuals and stuff.Ana isnt so scary in actual moving pictures as she is in the stills.Nice build up at the beginning when you just see her stilettoed feet strutting along.Not much of the band at all really is there?.Still its good to have them in their own vid again.First time since oooh.. must be Ruined In A Day the last time they starred?

I'm not actually begrudging him, just speculating on whether he'd ever consider pooling site resources into one.

It's true there are plenty of us who'd like our own FAC number but I'd suspect there are precious few who'd go to anything like the lengths he does in extreme fandom.

Anyhow, he's got one up on NOOL in this case. I wonder who'll post the first link to the actual Jetstream video.

Just a bit of box action from what I can gather, OB.

Certainly doesn't have the same kudos it might have in the Factory heyday but there's surely some novelty/kitsch value there? Although I just checked and it's not listed in Dennis Remmer's exhaustive Factory number resource.

In somewhat related news, I just had a letter framed that Tony Wilson wrote to me in 1990 on the official Fac 141 stock. Sitting pretty next to my desk.

Todd, the general concensus is that they're using all the leftover songs they recorded in the Sirens' sessions as the basis for the next album. Too strong for mere B-sides, so we're informed.

Was WIM Fac number given by Tony Wilson??? I will be exited to get my own FAC number...Maybe WIM deserve it, i do not know. We need both site for sure.

Jetstream is the worst song on the album. It's a chessetastic gorgonzolite! Why didn't they release Guilt... or Morning, Day and Night. Jestream is radio friendly, but you can guarantee that, as usual, the playlisters will blank it, so NO should have released one of their traditional stormers (i.e. any other song off the album).

look, Jetstream IS a tad cheesy, as are most pop hits...

The key is to hook as many folks as possible with the poptastic melodies and lyrics and then get them to buy the lp.... THEN, they hear the real stuff. THEN, they go out and pick up Substance or Best Of. THEN, they go pick up Technique or Low Life... THEN, they purchase Closer....

This has been the New Order MO for years.

And, hey, Jetstream IS a great pop hit. I get the song stuck in my head for days. That is a hard thing to do. I wish half the people dissing these pop songs would try to craft one themselves, as it is a lot harder than tracking a hip indie b-side. Effort of course does not equal relevance nor brilliance, but I commend New Order for having the balls to pen these pop tunes... it pays the rent and lets them push the artistic side...

p.s. yeah hopefully they will release Guilt next... cause that is a pop MASTERPIECE..... Morning, Night, and Day is a bit too cerebral and more a song for us fans I think... the fans are not the ones who the singles are aimed at (we've already bought the lp...) ... the singles are meant to get NEW fans....

I love pop - I just don't love Jetstream...

To me 'Bizarre Luv Triangle' was New Order pop, 'Regret' was New Order pop, 'Here to Stay' was New Order pop: New Order pop is good when they keep the spirit of NO in there. Jetstream is more like 'Steps' pop, which would be OK if they were taking the wee wee...

And despite itself, I'll still be buying Jetstream, just coz I want New Order to get as high up the charts and as much visibility as is possible...

I'd also like to see them win the 'outstanding contribution' Brit award this year. Two or three 2005 top ten hits will make that more likely...

Er... maybe not Steps, more 'Girls Aloud'...

Here is my opinion: I liked Jetstream the first time I heard it. It is the best song on the record and the best single since Fine Time or True Faith.
